Baker won best voice actor for the performance and the prologue is widely considered one of his better moments in the game. It’s also worth noting that Baker delivered that performance under vastly more difficult conditions (silly mocap suits in a bright white room).

No, see, THIS is why games journalists are treated like children when compared to most other fields of journalists: because you do the bare minimum of research, you specifically put more ‘feeling’ into it than pure reporting, and you write attention-grabbing pieces for the purpose of click-baiting, which I’m willing

I am not sure why this article and your comments are so angry. You wrote this article knowing people were going to disagree with you. Most of the article is listing things you hate about a critically acclaimed fan favorite game. There is nothing wrong with disliking something or even writing an article about why you

Right? I mean, if someone didn’t like TLoU, that’s fine. I won’t argue.

But by what metric is Baker’s performance considered “poor” by any means? I thought all performers brought their A game to this project.

Like, if you want to criticize the presentation or the script or whatever, I get it. But some of these

Why is this article taking shots at Troy Baker’s performance? I understand you didn’t particularly like the game (or know when it was released) but you can’t be ignorant of Bakers Joel being one of the most acclaimed performances in any videogame. It seems somewhat spiteful to chirp on about the superior Pascal based

Yeah, this article took kindof a weird shot at Troy Baker.  The guy is a very talented voice actor, and (correct me if I’m wrong) seems like an decent guy.

It seems a bit unfair to compare Troy Baker’s performance with Pedro Pascal’s. In the show, Pedro has...his whole body to act with? Or are you including 2013 animation (which was quite good, but not exactly human) as part of the “performance”?

“I think she’s entitled to her opinion, she’s entitled to say what she feels.”

Um, just to be clear, J.K. Rowling has never had her opinion silenced. She’s perfectly free to say whatever thing bops into her 100s-of-million-dollar brain. She has, and continues to do so.

The problem for her, Brian, is that people actually

You am not learn our language! Bad job!

Dystopia is a setting, gritty is a tone. It had the former, what with the imperial occupation, but the tone was one of hope.

I don’t get why they didn’t use a canonical Batkid. There’s plenty to choose from.

That one teaser from way back when looks worse every year. I don’t mean the graphics, I mean the tone—I would hope as a society that we’ve moved past the reflexive belief that grittier, more vulgar, this-ain’t-your-parents-Beyond-Good-And-Evil is an intrinsically worthy endeavour. WE’VE GOT A MONKEY THAT SAYS ‘MOTHERFU

I very much enjoyed the Velma pilot, mainly because it gave major vibes for my favorite animated comedy series of all time: Clone High. Both shows very much know exactly what they’re doing when it comes to “offending” specific audiences (very similar to the recent, excellent She-Hulk show), which is probably why Clone

Tough question.

Every show that dares to have queer people in it on Netflix seems to get two seasons, max, while bigots running royally fucked up shows and “comedy specials” get drowned in millions upon millions of dollars.

Damn it... I love this series.  It's quirky, it's funny and very upbeat.  Lately it seems like any Netflix series is practically condemned to be axed after one season or two. What gives?

I think Overwatch 2 finally managed to kill my Overwatch habit, for better or worse. With Overwatch 1 I never missed a single event and I placed in every competitive season, but I barely touched this last Christmas event and didn’t finish my comp placements (Or rank adjustment? I’m confused like Mercante on this one).

Obligatory

The commenting here has become super-ragey; you’re not the only one to notice. And a lot of people were “grandfathered” in ten years ago back when they could pass for normal, with nobody now paying attention to how far it’s gone.

Pro-Tip 1) Don’t adopt a pet unless you understand what it means to own the pet and are committed to taking care of that pet for its whole life. Yes this means even if they get bigger then you were told they were, or have health issues or if you have to move. If you can not commit to an pet, then don’t get one.
