I sincerely hope this is a case of a savvy businessman using a huckster media trick to drum up coverage for his independent project. Because, anyone who actually thinks there’s a legitimate case here has a lot to learn about parallel thinking.

In fairness to the developer himself, he specifically stated he didn’t think it had anything to do with his being black. It is a bit disingenuous the way Kotaku makes a big point of his race.

I know there’s a GIANT history of rich/big-name white creators stealing from smaller black creators, but this doesn’t seem like a case where that has to be in the goddamn title. It feels like rage bait.

The world of social media is so insulated that creative people think that these big studios are just constantly trolling through random Twitters and TikToks to try and find stuff to rip off.
