Race, and racism - explicit and hidden - is a part of everything. Including automotive culture. If you can’t see that, or don’t want to believe that, you’re a part of the problem

The wheelchair in the bed has me wondering if the Toyota is modified for accessibility. It wouldn’t excuse anything, but it adds potential answers to “what went wrong?”
Its especially ridiculous when you realize they happily pay the console companies their 30%.
People have just arbitrarily decided that 30% is unfair based on... Tweets? They have no frame of reference for the actual costs of running a popular digital platform. Apparently 30% is unfair because Tim Sweeney said so.
Which is generally how Apple handles things - “You did thing we do not approve of, remove or we yank. If you remove in the future you can re-submit and go through the application process.”
Except Apple isn’t breaking the law or using anticompetative tactics. Apple isn’t enough of the marketshare for gaming to matter. If Epic doesn’t like Apple’s tactics they don’t need to produce games for IOS.
Who died and decided 30 was the wrong percentage. Nothing stopping Epic from a: sideloading on 80% of all cellphones in the world and b: starting their own OS and COMPETING with Apple software to software...
I honestly don’t understand how Epic expects to win their case at all... My understanding of it is akin to this analogy:
Orrrr they’re taking action against a developer who flagrantly violated the terms of service. Epic’s selfish action has put its own developers in trouble. I’m sure they’re more than willing to fork out some cash to help them out.
Epic is bigger within their respective market than Apple is within their’s. Seriously, Android has more marketshare than iOS, whereas Unreal Engine is the most popular game engine. With that in mind, it would appear that the OP is calling Epic out for being a monopoly as well. It isn’t really relevant to Apple’s case,…
I assume its because there is some Apple licensed software in the tools Unreal uses to interact with iOS.
Just like Epic has the right to split it 88/12, Apple has the right to split it 70/30. Apple also doesn’t have a majority of the market, they have one ecosystem. Nobody buys an iphone expecting access to the google play store for apps.
I’d say that their paid exclusivity model is draconian. And how is it really an…
If Unreal Engine is so used, wouldn’t that make it a virtual monopoly as well?
Tencent teaching us fairness in monopolies. Excuse me while I vomit myself inside out.
“But they aren’t monopolies. Nobody forces you to buy an iPhone. Nobody forces you to use Google’s Play Store.”
Christ on a crutch. I posted the dictionary definition above. If you don’t agree with that, take it up with the ghost of Noah Webster or whoever.
Definition of monopoly: “a company or group having exclusive control over a commodity or service.” Neither Google nor Apple has “exclusive control” over the smartphone market. Do try to educate yourself in the future, sport.
How quickly people forget.
As someone who works in the gaming industry, a 30% cut does suck. It only gets harder the smaller you are too. So part of me is like “Yeah, lower that amount!” But Epic isn’t small and I feel like this is going to get pretty ugly. I don’t really like the approach Epic is taking. They were definitely ready for this to…
In this circumstance I complete disagree with their example. Them circumventing the Apple store is like having your product for sale in a Target, but you don’t want to pay Target a cut of the sale...
