I always require that a game is playable and enjoyable before I’ll buy it. This is both, and I think the fact that it’s still in development is more a reflection of the ambitious scale of the project than any kind of bugs or problems in gameplay.

Look up Tynan Sylvester on Twitter. Guy is literally one with a crowd.
The game has been in alpha/beta for over 3 years. I’ve been playing it for 2+ and they devs are very active. There are very few actual bugs left in the game. I can say I’ve played it maybe 40+ hours in the last two months and ran into zero.
Hey, first off, I’m sorry you’re having a tough time! There are a few aspects to your question. First, if you want a (non-indie) job in the industry, the key thing is having a great portfolio (whether art, code, design, whatever, basically a bunch of stuff you did that is awesome that you can show people). The key to…
It sounds like the systems worked perfectly in your case. You describe it as though it were a flaw, but the negative review did not end up stearing you away from the game, because *in context* of the other reviews and the amount of hours put in by the reviewer, you rightly assessed that the game was right *for you*.
Unfortunately this just means they’ll idle for 9 hours, then write it. However, I f’n love that idea, despite that loophole.
yeah, I was thinking that. part of this can be avoided by not allowing, or greatly diminishing the effect of, reviews made by people with 0.0 hours of playtime on the game (or maybe 0.1 or 0.2 hours)
I agree, that’s why I read multiple reviews and maybe even watch video on Youtube or if someone is streaming on Steam. I watched a lot of streams of Stranded Deep on Steam before I put the game on my watch list. Not buying yet, don’t like the idea of Early Access but that’s another topic.
I think my favorite version of stuff like this is on Metacritic. You’ll get people who will rate a game 2 minutes after the review period went live and they’ll rate the game a 0/10. Then their explanation for such a low rating (a rating that 99% of games do not deserve), they’ll say “I rated this a 0/10 to counter the…
“The Reason? In some cases, it’s clear—Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal got renamed to Ratchet & Clank 2: Locked and Loaded and Ratchet & Clank 3, respectively, to get rid of the innuendo in the names.”
It's not a bad idea, I'll think about it.
Denmark is relatively small though. Small countries have less problems covering the entire territory with at least decent internet. Bigger ones lack the money and the interest to do so. Here in Italy for example internet in rural areas is awful to new standards... small cities up to 15000 inhabitants are nicely…
