Already been sir. I have a suspicion a Cuban sandwich truck could make a fortune in the UK, either in London or on Brighton beaches.

Always a pleasure to come and stay - I’ve been doing this so long I’ve been all over the state and the stereotype is utter nonsense. I’m sure the crackhouse stereotype exists, but that’s not Florida. Not in my experience.

I’m an airline pilot. I have a good job that pays well. I think you’re describing a world most of us don’t live in but I’ll take your word for it!

I stated at the start I had no right, but you can only describe what you’ve experienced.

I am beginning to wonder if these are just for showing off how much money you have or whether you appreciate a proper driver’s car. No one doubts the capabilities, but I’ve seen Lamborghinis in the wild only twice, and both were stuck in traffic in southern France and Monaco.

And the weird striping, the Batman rear, the ridiculous spoiler, the panel gaps, the paint and the ‘Q’ plate (in the UK a Q plate generally means kit car or car of indeterminate origin - something you made in your backyard and brought with you to be registered).

Can I interest you in a comb-over, sir?

Forget the people who put badges on things, or fake vents, chrome strips. Whatever. Amateurs.

I’m going to have to pitch in here and it’s not something a UK citizen should do. You don’t talk about other peoples’ politics, you don’t talk about their religion - you work with it. You shouldn’t comment about other peoples’ countries without experience.

I’m still not convinced that was the best use of US taxpayers’ money and the only people you’re going to scare with it are tinpot African regimes. China et.al. aren’t really going to be bothered by it, and I am fully aware that it will come with its own taskforce too.

And flying into Texas and Florida, our other main routes, no problems at all. Polite, courteous staff doing their job, checking everything’s ok and nothing more. Always a pleasure to go through there.

Well, the Swedish have just decided to reintroduce military conscription and the British won’t let Poland fall to “rebels” uncountered. We have a sizeable Polish contigent here which some areas of industry are dependant on, and I don’t think there’s much suggestion that the Poles would like to go back to being a

I actually commute to work in Asia at the moment. I’d quite happily retire out here - same low costs, very friendly, nice (although unpredictable) weather, the language is easy to learn but my wife is having none of it.

Our Cost Index is currently 16.

The London immigration officers, especially at Heathrow, can be a bit terse to the point of rudeness if you’re in the non-EU line.

Generally in the UK, if you have to jump through that many hoops to join it’s for people like me and you. People who *could* have enough money but the board is wondering if we wouldn’t mind chipping in for a new tennis court and could we afford to do so...

Legacy or Forester.

It depended which V8 you got, certainly here in Europe. The earlier ones were plagued with the Nikasil issue but that was sorted out and they’re actually the better ones to have.

I think your second photo shows an innocent bystander admiring the interior.

This will be considered a bit vulgar in the UK. Quite a lot of posh mummys in London will tool around in one, I can almost hear the sound of footballers throwing cheques at Bentley, but it’s not quintessential British class like Rolls, Range Rover or Jaguar for me.
