Oh, my dear chap, I have to pull your reply out of the greys in order to redress the imbalance. Can’t have your reasoned argument not be aired...

It’s still pointless. BMW expertly combined the handling of an SUV with the rear headroom of a coupe, the off-road capability of an M3 with the ride-height of a bus.

I have no idea what this means, but I think everyone else should get a chance to judge think about what you’re saying...

This is *the* bargain of the moment in the UK, looking at the prices. They’re down to shed or banger money with full service histories and reasonable mileage (think around $1500, maximum, for a decent one). If you don’t mind that they’ve been in a minor shunt which meant that the plastic bumpers had to be replaced and

I bailed the minute another baby appeared. Two is enough for any sane person.

You’d love her to bits until she stabbed you in the heart with a broken Budweiser bottle and you became the subject of a ‘Snapped - Women Who Kill’ episode. (You can tell how shitty the cable is here in Asia when this is what we get for our subscription....)

The French have a knack for bulding indestructible, old-fashioned diesel cars that can be maintained with a hammer. When they turn their hands to luxury cars it all goes a bit wrong, but if you need something that will just work and can be spannered or bodged, you can’t go wrong with Peugeot or Citroen in their basic

Just ordered it myself on your recommendation. Sadly, it takes a while to get to me after my long-suffering other half re-boxes it and posts it out here.

I do sort of understand this argument, but is it not a case of amazing engineering being wasted?

The X4 has been here for a while too. It successfully combines the lower fuel economy of a large, mildly-lifted SUV with the lack of practicality of a smallish 4-door sedan whose rear headroom has been compromised by a coupe-like profile.

I had to look that up on Wiki as I’ve never heard of it, let alone seen one, but the article does say it’s for emerging markets.

Spot on.

It’s a case of becoming immune to what’s around you I think. A few brave souls have imported F-150s and other similar trucks into the UK, and there is an enthusiasts’ truck scene here, but they’re toys. Not working vehicles. Or even vehicles for going to buy milk.

Nothing. Zilch. Staff car park. I have no idea what the company pays for each space but they haven’t thought of charging the crews for them... yet.

Manual windows, steel wheels, solid paint. It’s not something you’d choose to celebrate life with, but it just works. Built for the African market and imported here when someone from Renault realised that UK taxi drivers are not Uber and don’t buy Escalades...

Those little things were awesome, but I haven’t seen any for a long time.

Made me grin! *hat tip*

I’m hoping PSA will respect the heritage of the Ambassador and not just slap the name on some anonymous little hatchback.

If NK develops weaponry that properly threatens the US or its allies, they’re done. At the moment all they could do is annoy a fishing boat somewhere in the Pacific, but they do seem committed to following through on this, with scant regard for the consequences.

I’ll give the Legacy Outback a pass, but that doesn’t fall into your category really.
