Task some Bothans with obtaining the blueprints and then find the location of an unshielded exhaust port.

And no clip? Let’s fix that...
In small-village England, mostly in the south, this is an absolutely spot-on observation. Bill Bryson makes the point in his books rather well, but even he had no clue about the trivial crap that some people turn into a life-dominating issue.
40mph, full-on, t-bone? You sure about the speed?!
Je concede.
The interiors are a bit.. stark, but the 3.0 NA engine (did you folks get the R-Spec B?) is fantastic. The 4th gen Legacy is basically all the car anyone could ever want. Just budget the head gasket change into your running costs, sigh at the fuel consumption, but know you’re driving one of the best all round cars…
It has two doors though, doesn’t it. Two doors? Coupe? Don’t tell me BMW make a 4-door frameless car that I have somehow missed.
I’m not criticising your choice - I like it. It has... issues... like all of the ‘forgotten’ styles but it fell out of favour for a reason, just like the style I like.
Frameless doors.... remember when we could have them? I’ll be out on the porch cussing out clouds...
I understand your affection for odd designs that do nothing except lower crash safety standards in the name of styling. Why give your rear seat passengers their own door when you can trap them in the event of an accident?!
About £5k to £6k (it’s a 2013). Small cars hold their value much better than luxo-barges and a used Fiesta/Corsa et.al will always find buyers. First car for teenagers, run-around for families, down-sizing for retired people etc
It’s not quite that bad, but used cars are ridiculously cheap compared to other markets.
I’m amazed you can persuade a police officer to sign their name to ‘something you made in your shed and brought with you!’ Presumably there’s no potential repercussions for the poor officer if your newly assembled balsa-wood-and-V8 creation disassembles itself at some point, killing or injuring other people?
I’ve expanded on it in another reply in this thread. It’s our Single Vehicle Approval regulations it would fail on, and these are the people who register and issue number plates for one-off builds like this truck or kit cars, or cars that were never sold in the UK or Europe and so haven’t been through a recognised…
Ours are as nebulous as yours in many regards. You won’t fail an inspection (MOT) for tyres or wheels sticking out beyond the wheel arch, but you do fall foul of the SVA (Single Vehicle Approval) regulations which govern how vehicles must be constructed.
A tank? Fine. Wheels protruding from bodywork? Sorry, sir...
Not on the roads - there’s nothing to stop us lifting trucks per se, but it tends to be the proper off-road crowd that install mild lift kits, rather than someone looking to make a statement about personal rights or our civil war in the mid-1600s...
Ah, a balsa wood drone, the zenith of drone technology in the ‘70s. I managed to screw even those up, so home-building an aircraft is not something I’d be doing. It requires actual skill and... patience... and many other qualities I find myself missing today!
