My dear chap. Congratulations on getting the result you wanted.

Oh god, why? I think there’s a minimum age requirement of 75 before you’re allowed to buy one though; it’s the only explanation for the demographic who buy it...
The posh bit for car enthusiasts is the Goodwood Road Racing Club which has a lengthy waiting list. You need an appropriate vehicle and, to put it in English parlance, to be a gentleman or lady. Money alone does not buy you entry but you don’t need to be landed gentry or related to the Queen - we’re back to knowing…
The Goodwood Kennels Club membership is currently £180 a year and there’s none of this golf-esque propose, second, nepotistic nonsense. After yesterday’s referendum I believe that’s around $2.
Since there is a waiting list for these that stretches back to the Triassic Period I am quietly confident that Morgan will weather the current political and economic nonsense.
It is, I suppose, a question of view. Whilst the UK’s younger generations (let’s say 16 - 50) are far more in favour of increasing ties with Europe and don’t see immigration per se as a threat, people older than this were far more likely to vote ‘Leave’ due to the politics of fear and an underlying current of racism.
I absolutely cannot fault your logic here. I can’t disagree with anything you’ve said but I think you’ve fundamentally misunderstood the ageing demographic who voted to leave the EU.
I already know nine phrases thanks to you. This is going to be a doddle...
Ah,. my dear chap - being British I have hard-wired instincts coded into my DNA which prevent me from picking a fight with Americans, on an American website, about American driving skills. My ancestors tried their version of this and we know how well that turned out for them...
I’ve never done the actual drive as I’m only ever allowed to leave Saudi at the same airport I came in. Whilst I was living in Bahrain I also had no desire to get a visa to cross in the other direction!
The thing is, the country is fucked in the long term. With all of their oil money the ruling family has made very little investment in other tertiary industries which will be needed when Elon Musk rules the world and the wells have run dry. The UAE clocked this decades ago which is why Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar et.al…
I’ve spent a fair bit of time in Saudi over the years. I didn’t exactly.. choose.. to go there but, hey, you play the cards you’re dealt. What I did learn is that there are two very distinct sides to life there; the strictly conservative, public face of family life and then there is the private side behind the…
I’m sure BBC America will make appropriate edits. As I understand it, the TG studio segment is filmed on the previous Thursday and the show then probably spends Fri/Sat in post-production before being approved by the BBC Politburo.
Yup, we’re on the same wavelength here you know!
One of the best things about British sportscars of this era, from an overseas owner’s viewpoint, is that 75 to 80% of them were built in LHD for the export market - the UK economy desperately needed US dollars coming in. More survive outside the UK than within.
Without ruining it for anyone across the Atlantic, it’s a much better episode than what we’ve seen to date. The guests are good fun, there’s a cracking film from Rory Reid (who is showing more and more star quality every show) comparing the Focus RS/Civic R/Merc A45 and other shenanigans.
About the only thing I can do to contradict this is say the word ‘cakes’, but otherwise I fear you are correct.
It’s actually the other way round, believe it or not. The TR3-6, as well as the Frogeye have shot up in value in the last six or seven years. A nice one will set you back in the UK, on average, £20,000 to £30,000.
