It’s funny, my elementry school had a one-day-a-week gifted program. One year, I noticed I was the only white kid not in the program (my parents didn’t care and hadn’t asked for me to be tested for the program). The next year, my parents were told I was being put in the program. I always wondered about that.

Also, it sounds like he not only wants her to wear a cast, but wants her to enjoy it. He says he doesn’t want her to wear a cast just to “save the marriage”. Which, I mean, it’s one thing to ask for an accommodation, and another to demand enthusiauism.

Could we pay Dave Foley to wish himself a happy birthday? He could probably use the encouragement.

I mean, if you're going to invest in pretend money, it may as well be the most pretend money.

Now I need to rewatch Knives Out, to see who Apple deemed pure enough to hold an iPhone. Also, because its a good movie and I was going to rewatch it anyway.

And don’t get me started on Hawkeye. HE’S NOT EVEN AVIAN!

I mean, you look at the character and you think “oh yes, this is clearly a role for Jack Black”

Once, not at a steakhouse, but at a place that was known for their steak, I was eating with my boyfriend and there was a man eating alone, having a steak. He finished, and the waitress came over and asked if he’d like dessert or coffee. He replied “no, I’ll just have that again please” “the steak?” “yeah”. My

Of the Miss Marple stories, Nemisis has a really good plot, solving a decades old murder with almosr no direction, which kind of lines up with the first movie. (detective hired without being told why or what to look for).

In my Very Serious Batman, Alfred doesn’t cheap out on the grief conselling, and Bruce Wayne becomes a well-adjusted billionaire who establishes a charitable fund in his parent’s name to implement evidence based social programmes throughout Gotham. In the first movie, he brings in free universal child care.

I feel like ‘had interesting ideas and no idea how to realise them’ might be Snyder’s legacy.

Maybe if it becomes a franchise, the pattern can just be ‘Knives [preposition]’ Knives At! Knives By!

I’ve got no problem with subtitles (who would have thought my time as a teenage nerd watching subbed anime would ever be useful), but I’m a giant wimp about horror, which means I’ve missed a number of amazing movies the past few years. I’m still debating Parasite, which just came out in theatres here.

Knives Out Two: Knives Further Out

Counterpoint: Knives Out was one of the best movies last year, and I hope the sequel manages to be both as funny and as political.

That’s why there’s a rolled up newspaper. If nothing else, it would make televised interviews more entertaining.

I completely agree, the ultra rich are a distortion on the economy and politics, and if I had my way, heavy taxes would essentially cap wealth at a certain point.

Agrred, but I have to warn you, the waiting list to hit Elon Musk with a newspaper is significant.

I think the fundemental problem with rich people is that once you have a certain amount of money and power, people stop telling you that you’re wrong. We need a modern equivalent of the guy who whispers in Cesear’s ear “Remember you are mortal”. I propose that everyone with a net worth over, say, 40 million gets

Horses aren't boring, but they way movies and video games use them as brainless means of transport does make them boring. Horses in real life are very exciting, if only because you don't know what they will choose to be afraid of next,or how they will react to anything. I want a movie where a horse decides a tree is
