It’s funny, my elementry school had a one-day-a-week gifted program. One year, I noticed I was the only white kid not in the program (my parents didn’t care and hadn’t asked for me to be tested for the program). Of the Miss Marple stories, Nemisis has a really good plot, solving a decades old murder with almosr no direction,which kind of lines up with the first movie. (detective hired without being told why or what to look for).

In my Very Serious Batman, Alfred doesn’t cheap out on the grief conselling, and Bruce Wayne becomes a well-adjusted billionaire who establishes a charitable fund in his parent’s name to implement evidence based social programmes throughout Gotham. In the first movie, he brings in free universal child care.

I feel like ‘had interesting ideas and no idea how to realise them’ might be Snyder’s legacy.

Maybe if it becomes a franchise, the pattern can just be ‘Knives [preposition]’ Knives At! Knives By!

I’ve got no problem with subtitles (who would have thought my time as a teenage nerd watching subbed anime would ever be useful), but I’m a giant wimp about horror, which means I’ve missed a number of amazing movies the past few years.
