Same here - it's annoying (to me). I just want to sound like myself! I actually read something awhile back that indicated this trait was linked with empathy. It makes sense, but what a weird way to express it.

Uh, as someone who works in evolution biology... you are discussing evolutionary psychology, NOT evolutionary biology. Evolutionary biology we have evidence for, evolutionary psychology is just making about stories about "why things are the way they are" with no evidence.
