I wouldn’t consider “while drunk” the best time to think about your life choices.

Like any other technological fad, there seems to be largely two opinions about it: That it’s the best thing ever, or that it’s the worst thing ever.

And also telling them to go to a bar and have a beer as if that is some better upgrade on the “life” scale. This must be one old crotchety geezer.

Like when did that happen? You were out on a walk catching pokemon? You were in the shower or on the toilet? You were eating lunch?

You can say that about every form of entertainment ever.

I could care less about people enjoying the stupid silly game. I play lots of games, games are fun, people should be allowed to enjoy what they wish.

What annoys me is the 15 fucking articles a day written about it since its launch. What is it? How do you get started? why is everyone talking about it? Is it reading…

Pokemon Go is only starting. There are 20 years of fans waiting to relive the fantasy first introduced with the anime and game in 1996. What we (the fans) are still missing:

You get over the weirdness factor. Since I started playing my daily average for distance is now 8km/day. Even when the servers were down over the weekend I still found myself going out and walking just to walk. It’s great it for nothing other than that.

Telling people to “get a life” who are walking around and having fun with their friends...

Never been into pokemon before, but i’ve walked about 15k in the last couple of days and got a nice suntan. Dunno if it’ll keep me interested long term and i def feel a little self conscious as a forty year old randonmly stopping to wave my phone in the air, but the game is strangely compelling.

Fun fact - they aren’t allowed to deploy their chutes until one of them has caught the Golden Snitch.

Theres no vacuum in which to make these pronouncements. The cost of living across the country can vary by 30%. Toss on the vagaries of the housing market, insurance costs if self-employed, and anyone still digging out after the GR. Got kids? Loans? Medical issues? Past divorce?

Yeah, fuck those guys trying to get word out about what a fair wage is!

$53k is not a “surviving wage” where most game development jobs exist? Come the fuck on.

I live in Fort Lauderdale and it’s not a livable wage for someone who has a family and wants to save for their kids college and their own retirement. It can work, but it’s a big stretch.
