In the 80s there was another entry level turbo V8. The Italian market had the 208 GTB Turbo a 308 powered by a 2.0 Turbo V8 for tax reasons.
The naming convention goes back to the very early days of Ferrari when the number signified the cubic capacity of one cylinder of the engine. I'm pretty sure that if you have enough money Ferrari would put a gated 6 speed in there for you. They've got their whole custom car program, so I can't imagine that a manual transmission is completely off the table, but it's probably a million dollar option.
Gorgeous. The front and the rear a much simpler and purposeful. Love the big ducts on the side, nice job Ferrari. I drove a 458 on a track at 10/10ths (of my ability) and it was phenomenal. I can't imagine what this will be like.
