There’s been a long neo-Confederate project to slander anyone related to the Union or Reconstruction, so I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s plenty of “documentation” for Grant’s stupidity.

Me too--I never thought I was that tall (I guess for a woman, I am), but reclining seats, theatre seats (crackerbox multiplexes), and car seats have been a problem. Is everything made for people that are 5'6 at most?

Yeah, I think this is a good point. People’s argument in favor of reclining always seems to be “it’s MY seat,” and while that’s true, you’re still putting said seat in shared space/the space of the person behind you when you recline it.

I’m still not convinced that Tobey Maguire and Topher Grace are different people.

It’s long been a theory that fascism (or one of its authoritarian siblings) rises every 3 generations, when those with direct contact with the horror die out, and there’s no-one to recognise the warning signs.

No, I’m guessing he thinks all are mind control and blights on the African American community.

Yeah. I agree with that. Understanding part of the history of PP and how racism intersects there, too, is valid. But, it’s also important to recognise how the organisation has progressed away from those ideologies, too.

So? We have nothing to lose anyways? Why not shine a spotlight on how screwed up our system is for voting? How many provisional ballots are being thrown out, for example? And what’s wrong with making sure that we weren’t hacked?

and add a final layer of field greens

I think HRC is smart to have someone else do this on her behalf. If I were I’d stay as far away from this as possible. If it fails she won’t look like a sore loser. And if succeeds she might become President, although it’s probably wishful thinking.

This is not “crying wolf.” I understand what you’re getting at in terms of relative harms, but thinking along these lines and then telling people they can only call out the worst possible offensive behavior is a problem.

This is a distraction.

She’s also a licensed pilot and worked as a White House budget analyst for nuclear energy under Ford & Carter

Her recipes never fail. This is a fact. Also, her voice relaxes me. I find her presence reassuring.

There is a lightness—something almost resembling naiveté—to Garten’s elitism that separates her from other rich, white, New England-based chefs like, oh, Martha Stewart—who has a heavier, more condescending gaze.

Why the fuck are you talking about shoes?

Nope, no holographic wills in NY. Statutes here are strict. There’s always been a lot of very wealthy people in NY, I’m sure it’s that way for a reason.

You can use testamentary intent to enforce a will in some states (like CA) but not in others. I don’t believe you can use testamentary intent to validate a will in NY. The fact that this case has gone long enough for it to be a story makes me believe the argument of testamentary intent was moot and could not be made

No lawyer worth their salt will look at a Legal Zoom will and tell you “it’s valid”. I won’t even look at another attorney’s will and say “it’s valid.” Why? If I do that and something is wrong or the law later changes, I own whatever mistake that LZ or another attorney made. It’s like a game of hot potato with the
