I am SO excited for Dare Me. I am a diehard Megan Abbott fan and the reviews for Dare Me are glowing.

I was in 8th grade when the entire grade was taken to a community theater production for cats.

I remember wanting Samantha because she had brown curly hair and brown eyes, and I did too.

I am a high school history teacher and I majored in history in college. I always read historical fiction as a child, a teenager, and now as an adult. I had two American Girl dolls as a child and the biggest appeal for me was the history of them. I voraciously read all the books that accompanied the dolls and genuinely

I would also like to know your standards. I am 28 and live independently, pay my own bills, work hard at my job, cook for myself, and stay up to date with my appointments and health.

Yeah I’m annoyed. Show us pictures!

I felt like this episode was all over the place. I HATE watching characters make genuinely terrible decisions without understanding the consequences. First was watching Abe quit his job. Now, Rose, within a conversation of all of 5 minutes, gives up her entire trust fund. Her blaming Midge didn’t make any sense.

“I think if I were raised non-Christian my family would have “celebrated” but not observed Christmas. I think all my childhood Jewish buddies did, or at least I vaguely remember them all having Christmas trees in their homes. And cool new stuff to play with, even if Hanukkah fell earlier so they weren’t Hanukkah

I don’t think people are upset over the ad, I think they’re amused by the ad. I know I am amused. It is just so over the top and sentimental, and cringey. It is funny and tone-deaf.

I LOVE Bachelorette and rewatch it often.

I agree with you but I think the advice here is to not complain and talk incessantly about how you’re being “so bad” and gonna have to “hit the treadmill” later. That kind of talk is seriously really annoying and ultimately pointless. I don’t fault anyone for sticking to their eating habits, but I’d prefer they don’t

I despise, DESPISE, Lisa Vanderpump. So happy she is gone.

My bff and I have serious FOMO about Bravocon. I must go one year! That is SO classic that the RHOBH panel was the most boring. Those women won’t answer ANYTHING honestly. They seriously need to recast the show. And I’m thrilled that Ariana from VPR stayed at her booth - she’s my favorite!

Older people born years before a younger person continuously harping on how young that person is, is so, so boring.

I don’t believe this anecdote at all. The excuse being that the executive said “no one will remember” does not hold up - the entire story of Tubman is of slavery. I just don’t believe this at all.

This is what is so bizarre to me with the whole situation. All this women said was “they’re fine for teen girls.” Like...seriously? That is enough to cause this insane meltdown? Truly weird.

So, I started reading some contemporary romance novels. I read the Jasmine Guillory books that have gotten a lot of buzz. I find them truly terrible. My librarian friend explained that that is just how a lot of romance novels are. It is very hard to support those books because a lot are just terrible.

I disagree to a certain extent. I’ve found that there is much more pushback to criticism in the literary world - so if an author gets bad press or a bad review, that author and their supporters tend to overreact. I’m not sure why this is - maybe authorship seems more personal so people are more hesitant to criticize?

I am notoriously terrible at predicting twists (while my boyfriend is extremely talented at it - to the point where it is annoying) and I had no idea this was the twist. In fact I didn’t realize what was happening until it was spelled out for me at the end. I am now embarrassed realizing that everyone knew it was
