I can’t stand long movies, and it isn’t an attention thing because I’ve always been a traditionally good student and love reading. I can focus on most things with no problem. Not movies though!

I tried 4 times to read the book and couldn’t.

I am neither vegan nor vegetarian but I think the main reason people are eating these burgers is because of environmental concerns. It is well known that our meat consumption is awful for the environment, so if there is a way to cut back on it then it is worth it.

So incredibly cringey. The second-hand embarrassment is strong.

I just bought a dutch oven this past summer after watching Julie & Julia and wanting to make beef bourguignon. Since I had never used a dutch oven before I bought an inexpensive one at Home Goods, I think it was $40.00. I highly recommend! I too am an Instant Pot user, as well as a Crock Pot user, but sometimes you

JFC. She ACTUALLY does say she is surprised the husband can get it up.

So, I’ve been watching this each week and I have the same feeling. If my boyfriend left me AT THE ALTAR and my best friend started seeing him, I would truly never speak to my friend ever again. It is supremely shitty.

Kash’s family is cool, but Kash himself is obnoxious. One of my most hated tropes is when a person who has a well-paying/secure job throws it all away for nothing, like trying to become an actor. Infuriating!

This is so accurate. My boyfriend and I have been watching it each week and last night I told him “its entertaining, but its not that good.”

When I was in high school it was a normal block, so same length as classes. It was just another block in your schedule. Same thing at the first school I taught at. At the current school I teach at, lunch is 25 minutes. It isn’t really a huge problem, but you definitely have to move if you want to get your food, find a

I never really cooked growing up and could only do the most basic of recipes (scrambled eggs, Kraft mac and cheese, boxed cake mixes). When I moved out for the first time I knew I had to learn to cook real meals to feed myself. I started with soups. It actually felt pretty simple. The first real meal I made myself was

I lucked out. There’s a Popeyes in the mall I usually shop at, so I grabbed one on Saturday. Super quick and great customer service. Loved the sandwich!

Same. I’m 5'9" and I kind of wish I was 2 inches shorter. I wish I could embrace it :-/

I think that taller girls get ignored in the good ol’ height debate, which is a shame. I get that it can be annoying for men to be told by a person 5'6" or shorter that they want someone over 6 foot, but what about us tall girls! I’m 5'9" and was tall my whole life, so it wasn’t until my junior year of high school

SO EXCITED about new Vivian Girls!!!

The way you put this makes a lot of sense. I like it. I never thought about the traffic light system in this way but I agree. I don’t like the idea that if I have a slice of cake one night, I have failed or I am weak. Marking foods as bad or shameful is precisely what leads to disordered eating.

Yeah, I think it can be really hard to balance between encouraging people to eat right, and delving into disordered eating. I think our problem is that so much of our modern history is based on “being skinny is not only healthy but also makes you a better person in general,” like, we see being skinny and restricting

I am confused with all of this because I could have sworn I read an article, maybe it was even another Salty Waitress, that was bashing customers for talking to bartenders while they’re trying to work. I don’t get why bartenders care if I’m on my phone.

Hard same :D

I really hope that one day I have a girl just so I can deal with remarks like this. My partner is the most calm, cerebral, bookish person I know - the thought of him brandishing a shotgun is hysterical.
