This is so insane to me. A few things:

Haha, this reminds me of an ex-roommate I had. She was terrified of drinking tap water because of the fluoride in it, yet she smoked like a chimney. I don’t get it.

I’m about 5 years out of undergrad and happy in my chosen career (teacher) but I can’t help but think that I should have gone to law school and then specialized in IVF, fertility treatments, and surrogacy laws. I feel like the whole field is the wild west and it would have been very lucrative to practice law for

It is a shame that Wolf’s recent work has been plagued by so much controversy and confusion. The Beauty Myth is still one of the strongest third-wave feminist books I’ve ever read. It really made me reframe my entire sense of self and body image.

Agreed. I really like her songs and I am consistently impressed by her soundbite and interviews. I like that she is open about her mistakes and flaws and growing pains. I feel like the negative comments are knee jerk reactions to her fame and popularity.

I hate when people act like someone dumping someone else is terrible and means you treated them “like garbage.” Break ups happen. What’s the alternative - stay with someone you don’t love forever just because you feel bad????

Agreed. Last night my boyfriend and I were channel surfing and came across some Parts Unknown episodes On Demand. We both wanted to watch but also acknowledged that its really hard to watch them now without falling into melancholy. Such an amazing series, but with such a tragic end.

I am sitting here tearing up at this comment - Bourdain was truly someone special. I’m so happy you connected with your dad over this phenomenal TV program.

I’ll chime in with my own anecdotal evidence too - a few months ago I was watching Crazy Ex-Girlfriend by myself. In the show, one of the characters mentions “Kate Hudson’s new leggings line.” Later that night, on Instagram, I saw an ad for Kate Hudson’s leggings. I never googled anything about Kate Hudson or leggings

I’m really happy to see this popping up. I just have my own anecdotes about this topic.

It can be nice to have a change of scenery. I’m a teacher currently on summer, and I love reading, but sometimes I need to leave my apartment so I don’t go crazy.

Chiming in with my own anecdotes - I take a low dosage birth control pill, and it never had any effect on me whatsoever. No major differences that I noticed. I love it and never had a problem with it.

This is insane. My entire week is based on me making a huge meal Sunday/Monday and then eating leftovers until Thursday. In fact, some meals even taste BETTER when they’re left over! (soups, for example).

I’d rather die than complain about food. This past weekend I was at breakfast with my boyfriend and his family, and my pancakes weren’t cooked all the way through. The batter was still liquid in the middle. I just ate around it and didn’t say anything. It’s almost like I physically can’t make myself speak up. Idk what

“Yeah, she thinks she’s better than many of the people that have appeared on that show...and the truth is it’s because she is. Sorry.”

See, I totally don’t see this perspective. RHOBH is my favorite of all the franchises, and I think the best storylines over the years have been the ones not involving LVP. Rinna and Kim Richards, everything to do with Taylor Armstrong, Brandi Glanville and Adrienne Malouf, Camille vs. Kyle...LVP has always been just

Interesting, I loved Set It Up! My boyfriend and bff, however, didn’t like it.

I agree that its great to see representation in the media we consume. But this movie was mediocre at best. The pacing was weird, the plot weak, and Randall Park’s character was a negative, surly jerk. I’m afraid that we as an audience are lowering our standards for movies, since Netflix churns out so many of them.

That was SUCH a good movie!

Saw this yesterday and loved it! I’m a high school teacher and I found the dynamics between the teenagers to be really accurate - the smart, nerdy girls aren’t necessarily bullied in the classic sense, but they keep a separation between themselves and the mainstream group. When the kids at the party were all excited
