I think you should move. This isn’t directly related to your situation, but I was once in a renting situation that was combined with friends and family as landlords and it ended up being a complete f**king disaster.

Dating is...I don’t even know what dating is. I’m in the same boat and I feel like I’ve had a pretty good experience so far on the apps I use, but sometimes it feels like when I go to a first date I’m going to a job interview. Fortunately I met someone a month ago who seems really promising and its going well...but I…
I listen to this podcast called Two Judgey Girls where they recap Bravo each week (highly recommend) and they were spot on in describing Summer House. They said there’s something missing - probably because its too confined. It just takes place (mostly) at their one house in the Hamptons. Its too concentrated. Pump…
For real...like that is literally exactly how this country works.
I think #NotYourAverageGunGirl just broke my soul.
The one who threw up also got seriously injured in the shooting (I did not know this) but there is footage of her a few days after with a black eye, scratches and cuts all over her face, and bandages on both her legs where she was shot. Can you imagine? That girl is immensely strong to move forward and get on that…
OR we can do a “walk-up” instead of a walk-out in which we eat lunch with the weird kids. Because you know, we should definitely teach our kids to be nice to others so that in the event of a school shooting, they’ll be spared. Sounds like a really healthy friendship.
I was born and raised in Miami, FL and the Cuban and Cuban-American base is still mostly conservative. In the 2016 election this caused a lot of turmoil between the Cuban community and the South American communities, as many Miamians from South America lean liberal especially in regards to immigration issues, whereas…
Same, I didn’t realize the entire shooting took place over just 6 minutes. And that the shooter abandoned the weapon and blended in with the other kids. This shooting proves that the “good guy with a gun” argument is just asinine and would cause more harm than good.
If you are GenX then when you went to college, tuition was a lot cheaper. Its well known that tuition has skyrocketed over the last decade. You don’t sound objective in this comment at all, it sounds like you already dislike millennials and are picking out the parts of MissCrystal’s comment that fit with your…
Yeah, they had a sign that said “rethink your priorities - guns kill 18 children a day but abortion kills 3,000 children a day” or something like that. They also had all their graphic posters as well. They’re ALWAYS out in DC so I’m getting kind of desensitized to it, but they’re just awful people on a day like today.
I was on Pennsylvania Ave in front of the Trump Hotel, and during her silence a group of pro-life counter-protesters were chanting and trying to disrupt the silence. So I was watching her up there, and absorbing the resounding silence, while simultaneously hearing blurred yelling and insults. It gave me chills and was…
Yeah, it was definitely moving. I actually am feeling much more somber, reflective, and downright sad than I expected tonight, reflecting on everything discussed today. I’m a high school teacher and just rewatching the footage and the sheer terror during the shooting itself hit me hard. And then to see teenagers take…
I completely agree. While I am absolutely in favor of stricter gun control, I really do think there is a serious problem with glorification of violence in our culture. I don’t think gun control would solve the problem by itself.
Just wrote basically the same thing before I saw your comment. Yeah, the march today in DC was very affecting. It was serious, passionate, and full of anger.
I cannot deny your own experience, but I will say, the march in DC was serious, passionate, and people were angry. I didn’t see people taking selfies or indulging in social media sharing, in fact, we all stood there listening to the speakers for three hours. There were tears, moments of connection, and arguments. It…
I went to the march in DC. It was very good and I’m happy I went but it affected me more than I thought. I’m a high school teacher and I can’t stop thinking about that situation happening to my own students. When I see teenagers, I just see my students. No child should have to live through terror like these kids lived…
I mentioned this in another thread. I’m a high school teacher and my GPA definitely matters. All my employers have asked for official transcripts, and my first employer (first teaching job at 22 years old) asked to see my diploma. Didn’t bother me at all, also I had a high GPA which I worked hard for, so I was happy…
I think it depends. I’m a high school teacher and every job I’ve had asks for GPA, cares about it, and also asks for official transcripts.
My mother is a career placement advisor for the College of Engineering at the university she works at. She always advised me to include my GPA on my resume.
