They can pry my crock pot out of my cold, dead hands.

I’m not sure. I can’t speak for Amy Schumer, but I will always remember my mom teaching me from a very young age to assertively say “no” if I am ever in an uncomfortable position. And she even explained to me that women are conditioned to always be pleasant and always be nice, so we often get into situations that are…
I made mojo Cuban pulled pork in my slow cooker last weekend! Its so damn delicious. Ropa vieja is next!
I am loving these comments. I’m flirting with the idea of an Instant Pot and the whole pressure cooker thing terrifies me...but I don’t want fear to deter me from delicious, convenient meals! Last weekend I made pulled pork which required broiling at the end of the recipe. I’ve never broiled anything before, and I’m…
I was in the same boat but I started trying it out with small errands. I set a roast to cook one Sunday afternoon and went out with my cousin to get some food, came back 2 hours later, it was fine. I looooooooooove my Crock Pot.
I love my Crock Pot. I’m not a great cook but I don’t want to rely on take-out and frozen meals, so I have a bunch of great recipes that I use for my slow cooker. I love it because its easy to use, really hard to mess up a recipe, and I truly think it makes your meals taste delicious. You should try it!
This is such a good idea and I can’t believe I haven’t thought of it! And the food still tastes really good even with the added step of refrigeration???
I’m an avid Crock Pot user and all-around fan but yes you make a good point. I end up just meal-prepping on Sundays. For example, I have a recipe for a balsamic pork roast. It requires 8 hours on low. Sunday morning no later than 10:30 I prep the ingredients, put them in the Crock Pot, then set it. I do my usual…
I’m officially anti-brunch. I LOVE breakfast food - ie pancakes, eggs, bacon, coffee, orange juice, eggs benedict, an omelette, waffles, gimme it all. But brunch has taken these foods and put their own spin on it, and I’m not feeling this. I refuse to pay 30 dollars for a fancy brunch when I could get more and better…
Good points. I teach 9th grade European history, and my class was discussing Meghan Markle and the British royals. They were asking about some of the racism they’ve seen reported in the news directed to Markle from the British, and we had a great discussion on how due to our respective history, racism in Great Britain…
I went hiking today for the first time! I recently moved to Virginia from Florida and its such a different climate/environment, but I’m loving it! One of my goals for 2018 is to have more adventures - big and small. I had a blast today on our hike and plan on exploring more trails in the area!
When I was much younger I had a friend who started getting tattooed at 18. Her first tattoo was a large piece on her thigh. She went to a very popular and talented artist in our town to get it done, and it took a few sessions. I remember him being super creepy with her. He gave her a huge discount, then he started…
Okay this is interesting because I have the same thing. I got sick before Christmas, felt crappy, it got way worse right before new year’s, was terrible a few days, then took like THREE WEEKS to stop coughing phlegm and having to blow my nose every hour. It just wouldn’t end!
Yep. I teach high school and am still in my 20s so I’m (god, I can’t believe I’m about to write this) pretty “meme-literate.” I saw this meme circulating and felt that it was very clearly a stupid joke. Its really funny how the older generations took it seriously.
Just reading the second letter made me angry. I’m so done with the wedding industrial complex and everything that comes with it. Begging for money upon marriage is the dumbest and most obnoxious thing people can do. I also don’t understand why we shower the bride and groom with money, when they’re about to get to live…
Something I am very thankful for is how my mom taught me, at a very young age, to say “no” clearly and loudly if I am ever uncomfortable. And I even remember her explaining to me that women are conditioned to be nice and accommodating, but that can get us in serious trouble sometimes. She started telling me this,…
Yeah, I’m waiting for a post on it from Jez. Also I just read an Atlantic article called “The Humiliation of Aziz Ansari and its...its a real doozy. Hoping to hear from Jez about it.
Just new boot goofin’.
I just moved to the mid-Atlantic from Florida. I moved for economic opportunity and to get the most out of my youth before I turn 30. I was having the time of my life in my new town until this past week. I am so jealous of my family in FL right now.
Glad to see I’m not the only one who thinks this. I always feel like I know so many truly incredible women who are full of life with so much to offer, but cannot say the same for the majority of men I’ve known in my life.
