The first one was actually pretty funny! I would watch again.
I think about this allllllllll the time. The gap between biological maturity and social independence is very wide these days. However, I know its often overstated. Best for people to do what works for them. My 38 year old coworker got pregnant after trying for just a month. So many women in my neck of the woods have…
Wendy Williams is seriously such a fucking idiot.
Disagree with this reasoning. As feminists, it is crucial that we are critical and that we question outdated and potentially sexist activities or traditions. Just because women like to do pageants doesn’t mean its safe from being critiqued through a feminist lens. Women enjoy doing plenty of things that are sexist.
When I was in college I worked in the dorm computer labs for my part-time job. Most of my co-workers were engineering students, I was an education major with the goal of becoming a history teacher (which I now am). Those engineering kids were so god damn arrogant, it was downright confusing to me how anyone could be…
I am a teacher at a small private school and I’m really concerned with the focus on STEM, while there’s a complete apathy towards humanities/liberal arts. I’m a social studies teacher and I am constantly harping on how important it is for kids to learn their history, but in the education world, the hot topic right now…
I recently saw Die Hard for the first time at this special screening a theater near my house does. They show classics at midnight on Saturday for 7 bucks! I was so riveted with Die Hard, I loved it...
I love this story, that’s really cute.
I’ll never forget a story my favorite professor told us. She was a scholar in women’s history and married another professor who was highly educated in American history, really smart and progressive guy. When they had their first child, she left him home with the baby one day when she went back to work (and this was…
Who know what could happen, but think of it like this - maybe you’ll have a better relationship with your daughter since you had a strained one with your mother?
Ugh, some of us have multiple friends that do that.
And not to mention they were also sooooo young when all this happened. Literally 15 years old! So you’ve got impressionable teenage girls surrounded by controlling men, a crazy music scene, and a shitload of psychoactive drugs.
On Facebook I saw a few outraged posts calling this program racist and colonialist (is colonialist the adjective form of colonialism? anyway...) and I couldn’t believe it. This seems like such a good and important program and I also saw somewhere that it was started by refugees in the first place.
You should actually feel better though because Lauren Rodrigue’s posts are so annoying and embarassing it kind of makes me hope I never get married.
Same! I hate-read all these posts and I have to say its always pretty entertaining.
I teach high school, and the kids say "savage" usually to denote a hard-ass worthy of respect. Also, their tweets sound like how teenagers sound when they're complaining but also having some fun. I love this teacher! I would do the same!
I am a high school teacher and I have just about had it with the entitlement of grades nowadays. I work at a small private school and so many of the kids are just absurdly sheltered. I had a kid ask me if I could refer him to a good tutor for the course....HE HAS A B IN THE CLASS, HE’S DOING FINE. Its AP level too!…
Agreed. A lot of parents do not pay for their children’s college at all. Obviously the child doesn’t owe their life, soul, first-born child to their parents because they’re funding college, but they should absolutely be polite and welcoming to their parents. I don’t really agree with this article at all. Perhaps the…
God that is so annoying. I have an obnoxious coworker who loudly told us all how she felt “freaky and weird” breastfeeding her daughters. Look, breastfeeding isn’t for everyone and I totally respect that. But I really did not have to hear her laughingly shrieking about how “weeeeeeird” breastfeeding her daughters…
