I know, I love that quote.
I know, I love that quote.
Right, exactly. In my History 101 class in college (taught by a very well-educated and good professor) he gave detailed lessons on slavery and the antebellum South. When we started learning about slavery, he gave a great introduction and even mentioned that the treatment of slaves was varied and that there were SOME…
You’re making the right choice. I have very curly hair and have done this procedure seven times. I finally stopped when I embraced my curls and had an awakening. But that shit is awful for you. When you get it done, you can barely breathe. Your nostrils sting from the smell. There is no way its not dangerous.
I’m white too, and there’s a crew of white girls in my scene that I straight up cannot tell apart half the time. Even on Facebook one time a picture of two of them together popped up and FB did that “would you like to tag _________?” but it was pointing to the wrong one...even FB can’t tell them apart!!!!
What are you guys talking about? This video is super diverse. They had one black football player in it for a few seconds and they even twerked.
You know, I think about this a lot. I find it absolutely rich when white people say “all Asians look the same” or “all blacks look the same.” Its like...have you seen YOUR OWN RACE?
I am happy both the article here and the original response mentioned that the bridesmaid’s resources are none of the bride’s business. I have a good friend who often pulls the “you have money, lets go out and eat” card. It bothered me for a long time until finally I said one day “you know, I know that I’m doing well…
I like some of Patti Smith’s music but Just Kids was 300 pages of such pure self-enamorment that it kind of soured me on her legacy. PERSONAL OPINION THATS ALL.
That is so adorable!
Isn’t this basically just a corset? I looked at some of the Instagrams and they don’t look very safe or beneficial.
I’m getting pretty tired of these ~quirky judges~ giving weird and extremely subjective sentences. Also I am the farthest thing from a sap when it comes to weddings, but this quote - “I would have liked a spring wedding when it’s not too hot and not too cold” - really hit me in the gut. Poor girl. Fuck this judge.
I wrote this upthread. My dad has hair that, if he grew it out, would naturally be an afro. My own hair starts to dread if I don't wash it for 2 days, because the texture is very small, tight curls. People on this article are acting as if every single white person has straight blonde hair. Edit to add - we're white.
Are you forgetting that some white people have extremely curly/kinky hair? My dad keeps his hair short but if he grew it out it would naturally be an afro. I'm seeing so many comments that are "white people can NEVER have afros EVER EVER EVER its not POSSIBLE" which is odd to me because there are a lot of white people…
Hell yeah. One time my dad observed something humiliating happen to someone else, and when he described it to me he said "it was so weird, it was like I felt embarrassed, but...for HIM! not for me!" and I was like "ahh yes, you've experienced acute second hand embarrassment. welcome to the club."
I know what you mean. I posted about this yesterday, but I can’t help but feel a tiny bit hypocritical because I am neither vegetarian nor vegan yet I’m upset about Cecil. However, I think its justifiable. First of all, not only did he kill a “famous” lion, this one man has now single-handedly fucked up a pretty huge…
It reminds me of that scene in the second Ace Ventura movie when he walks in some rich guy’s den and there are animal heads all over the walls and he screams for like 5 minutes and then goes “this is a lovely room of death.”
I agree with you. I eat meat a lot. I always feel hypocritical getting upset over these stories, because I participate in the slaughter of animals as well. Anyone who eats animal products does.
I just want to thank you for taking the time to write these comments (seriously). This article is incredibly misleading and I actually agree with the petitition in question. I fear this is another Jezebel “sex work is the apex of feminism and if you don’t agree you’re a misogynist” article.
I vote Gilmore Girls. The first 3 seasons were phenomenal, the 4th season pretty good, 5th season all right, but 6 and 7 were so bad. Especially 7, it was all over the place.
The whole NYTimes article come off so arrogant and condescending. The subtext is very much "quiet people have depth and are unique." That is what I don't like about this.
