I cannot look at that picture of the dog, it is so heart-breaking.

I agree. I've been in situations similar to this (not nearly as bad), and it can be hard when you're friends with the person in question and don't really know the other one. For us, its easy to write off Woody Allen and think of him as a bad person, because we're just spectators. But for people who have actual

I am a pretty giant Courtney Love fan and I feel like this note could totally have been something she wrote, or something they said together. It feels very "Courtney joking about herself."

I AM a big Courtney fan and I remember being 13 and arguing this case to death with people who thought she killed him. Now that I'm an adult, the people who think he was murdered just seem very, very immature. Come on.

"18 Ways You Can Tell You're So Totally Jewish"

Whoa!! My dad uses the same term!! Haha.

Yep, absolutely. I hate that I kind of agree with (SOME OF) the things he said in this piece.

I don't understand why everyone is so aghast at your comment. There are plenty of ugly babies in the world and North happens to be one of them.

This is a great example of the extreme emphasis on individualism found in third wave feminism. I get what you mean but at the same time, if she really wanted to change standards, she would take no part in the industry.

I find this to be very interesting. I remember reading Jenna Jameson' biography and while she seemed to glorify porn and love her career, but when asked if she'd want her hypothetical daughter to be a porn star, she said she'd "chain her down in her bedroom" before allowing that.

Yeah, I'm kind of in a similar situation. I had two friends that dated and they broke up. The guy was pretty awful and crazy with her, but she was shitty right back. I still hang out with both of them. I just don't expect to hang out with them simultaneously. But I kind of resent the idea that I have to sever all ties

Yeah, its way too simplistic to just expect all friends to cut someone off. I don't know, it depends a lot on the individual situation.

I am actually pretty surprised to see so many comments saying that #2 should just drop her friends and never look back. I've been in a few situations like this and I think they're all very subjective depending on the situation.

No, they were not mentally ill. It is a symptom of society.

When I first read this story (an hour or so ago) I thought "there must be something horribly mentally wrong with this kid." But I read the Daily News link, and you know what? I knew a lot of REALLY intense dudes in high school who easily could have snapped like this. Dudes who get so overwrought and emotional they

I would say it is way worse. Gwen Stefani seems to have an appreciation/admiration for Japanese fashion and culture, she messed up by having Harajuku girls follow her around. I honestly think if she hadn't had that Harajuku crew with her, then a lot of people wouldn't be that mad.

I wouldn't really consider Mumford and Songs, Neon Trees, etc "pop music." That's more in the ~*~indie~*~ atmosphere.

Okay, I hate that I'm about to do this, but I really just feel like saying it. Pop music these days just isn't good. And I mean the top of the charts radio stuff we hear. I just think pop songs these days sound more bizarre than anything, unstructured, and trying too hard.

That is awesome! Yeah, I wish I had more friends and classmates that understood this point of view, but I go to a university where the students are total Type A overachievers. They just don't get my point of view. And I feel the same about hobbies and interests, everything I truly love can't really be a viable career.

That is what I mean, especially with how this generation is programmed so early on for their future careers. I mentioned this in another comment but so many of my peers assume they will graduate and land a job that they will have and love for the rest of their lives, at like 22 years old. I wish they understood how
