I would have immediately taken it to the assistant principal and called child services. What the hell.

True, but also teachers (at least in Florida, I'm assuming everywhere) are obligated to report any case of abuse that a student tells them, real or fake. If a trouble-making boy comes up and says his mother slapped him so hard he fell down and you think it's false, you still are liable and MUST report it. So that's…
I LOVE when Jez (usually on the weekends) posts some personal blog entry article and everyone is just like "wtf?" Makes my Saturdays amusing as well as relaxing.
Not sure if you're a viewer, but on Parks and Recreation the sidekick Ann gets dumped for the first time in her life, and meanwhile the main character Leslie Knope starts listing off alllllll the times she was dumped in her past. It was SO funny yet endearing. Hell yeah to the ladies that have been dumped!
My best friend is currently driving me crazy with this. She complains more than ANY of my friends, and she also happens to live by far the most cushy, privileged, lucky life out of the whole friend group.
When I read this quote in the article I rolled my eyes, and when I read it from you I burst out laughing. Something about the simple quote with no other commentary really nailed it.
THREE teachers who didn't mention anything when their student told them about this horrific abuse. That to me is sickening.
Thank you for this. I remember some girl once told me I wasn't a real feminist because I liked the first season of American Horror Story and there was a rape in it. I was really baffled. The rape in question was portrayed as very brutal, sad, and definitely not okay. I found it odd that according to her simply…
These types of lies are so weird to me. I have a friend who does this - he just lies about the most trivial, banal stuff. I don't get WHY.
Yeah, this article is way too lax. The majority of my friends are pretty against posting naked pictures of themselves online, and I have no desire to do so either. I'm sure I'll get called a prude and what not, but its just how I feel *shrugs*
It's damn annoying. The term "slut-shaming" gets thrown around SO MUCH that its list any potential meaning. I remember there was an article on here a few months back about how a teenager gave a guy head outside at a music festival, and photos were circulating all over the internet. A lot of commenters ACTUALLY were…
I agree with this comment. I feel like it's weird/futile to critique Sunny for lack of diversity because the main point of the show is their awfulness, and the face that they sort of live in their own bizarre little world. They also never claimed to be "the voice of a generation" (looking at you Girls).
You beat me to it! I was going to write the EXACT same thing...which seems rather bizarre given how awful they are. But the Dee character is just fabulous.
Wait, I thought they broke up ages ago? Wow, I feel really out of it.
Just because this was the experience in your high school doesn't mean its spread worldwide.
This quote is what prohibits me from sympathizing at all with these people. By them saying they're "sick of" thinking how the victim feels, it shows how little they care about the actual rape. This quote lost me and I decided that no, I don't feel sorry for these people and their "destroyed" (not actually destroyed)…
She is honestly my favorite. The actress (Taryn Manning) just nails it!
Wow, everything you write is exactly what I think. Its nice to see I'm not really alone.
I find this to be the most confusing aspect of this entire blog post, honestly. Why do they sit around and look at teenage girls' pictures? Just...why????
That is seriously so gross -______-
