It’s so funny, nowadays the only department store in most places really seems to be Macy’s—-since they bought out nearly every surviving US department store over the last 30 years, so every time I saw “The Department Store” I just read as “Macy’s”.

They used this quote on a Hallmark card in Maya Angelou’s hallmark card series 10 years ago (a dear friend gave it to me) so maybe she just said it a lot?
