Someone must have mentioned the segway guy, right? Or was it an urban legend that he rolled off of a cliff on a segway?

I think she means well, but possibly hasn't had the time to have the counseling that she needs to help her to understand the ED related language. When I was in the middle of my ED, EVERYTHING was so distorted for me, and even my thoughts on what recovery looked and sounded like were very very different from a healthy…
Very good point, I'm also a recovered(-ing) Anorexic, and it is a dangerous territory to have a celeb (who is trying to do a positive thing—-but does not have the proper training to work with an ED issue on such a big scale of hundreds of people replying to her post) trying to create a community to begin a positive…
Neat, I took a nostalgia train tour from manhattan out to Coney Island in the green 1940s subway cars (in AUGUST with these really dangerous low ceiling fans, and they had original advertising in the cars. This included the announcement for a 1940s Miss Subway :) My nephew (the reason we took the train anyway) has had…
Oooh. very good point. I didn't think about that at all but ick, stuck under lots of rubble, waiting for the air to run out is not an improvement.
Strange, I only saw one response box, are you also using Safari? My macbook air is a couple of years old, so maybe the older safari doesn't play well with the new commenting system, but thanks for the pointer. Ahhh.edited to add that you also see the one box, but a reply button each comment. I see that too, but the…
I think it is because of the new commenting system, the only open commenting box to start typing into (on Safari at least) is to the comment at the bottom of the thread. So right now, this box said "reply to Lux Alptraum" or something like that. the open comment box at the bottom of a thread is usually a reply to the…
I loved that she was sitting next to the guy who wrote the article she was trying to reference.
With the credit card culture that we have, 350 is a pretty typical price for a fancy silk off the rack dress. Your shopping habits should be applauded for shopping inside your price range—-many people don't.
Jinger is going to be the one to make it out. She didn't respond "robotically" I thought that she responded in a very typical 'frustrated, loving her family and still questioning their life and beliefs' kind of way. The interview clip was actually really interesting because it was the first time I ever saw the older…
I totally sympathize with you on your Highway walk, Erin! It amazes me the way Florida cities consider these streets to be pedestrian friendly...6 lane HIGHWAYS with crosswalks every mile or so. I remember walking to a shopping center in Orlando (during an internship) and the sidewalk dropped off with no warning,…
I worked at the container store for several years, their training videos were 10X more cheesy and nowhere near as entertaining. Imagine yourself in a 3 hour training class about selling custom shelving...a loopy and stupid musical break like this would be welcome! :) It is hilariously awful though.
They started in philadelphia and expanded their distribution along the east coastover the last 20 years. When i was little you could only get them in philly and the suburbs. They are insabely expensive now though. One little pie is 1.69 nowadays, in the early 80s they were 45 cents.
When I was 5 (back in 1980) , a thief broke into our house, stole lots of electronics and custom jewelry from my parents' room and also found the time to take 5 dollars out of my piggy bank in my bedroom and a bucket of coins from our playroom (kept inside a play kitchen cabinet and out of sight) that was used to…
Casabella makes a gray microfiber mitt for 12 bucks or so, just for cleaning stainless steel. You just wet it and wipe the stainless steel. We sold them at the containerstore for our 150 dollar trashcans!
My eyes keep trying to read it straight across like a book—-which makes absolutely no sense at all. I think I probably need more coffee, it does look like Timeline. Also, the replies aren't timestamped, so you can't figure out which reply you should read first anyway in order to continue the conversation. I don't…
Maybe it is because it is early. Maybe it is because I'm stupid. The double column set up looks worse than the previous layout. It makes sense to have the replies more visible, but why 2 columns? This is making it more difficult to follow.
Thanks for this! I'm a rape survivor and I am absolutely exhausted by thisongoing and never ending conversation. I've heard the word rape more times in the last 3 days than I have in years, and it is just tiring. I am glad that people are talking, but geez does it get tiring to have this constant trigger situation…
You could always adopted a declawed cat from a shelter. I'm against declawing, and my cats were never declawed, BUT there are a number of cats who have already been declawed waiting in shelters for great companions. So, just in case you didn't think about that idea—-it is a possibility :)
The vet believed that this happened with my 6 year old shorhair kitty, he died without any kind of symptoms of illness, absolutely heartbreaking. He was a kitten from a litter of my friend's barn cat, and he'd been healthy his whole life up to that. I had no idea that cats could have a problem like that.
