Let me explain why this is a bad idea, adding moisture to drywall compound will weaken it making it more likely to crack and fail over time. A drywall pro will use just enough mud that it barely needs sanded. Don’t go crazy with drywall compound and you will be much better off.

Your statement is correct I should have said it better. I meant it can be used to clean grease from something, like a cleaner, but it evaporates making it useless as a lube. Only temporary protection from rust. 

I disagree with their statement. I would not use as a lubricant. Case in point, add it to a squeaky hinge. It works for a a little while, but not the right product for the job.
