You’d be surprised to see how many manufacturers use those type of fixes. As a veteran of numerous years with Asian makes, this type of fix is more common than you would think. But it works.
For as much crap as they get about their nose, the UA9 (4th gen SH-AWD) is a wonderful driver.

To be fair, I had just found out about the pumping gas deal. I asked a guy if you were expected to tip. His response was since the fuel was cheaper here, then yes. I thought it was a big old crock after thinking about it.
*sigh* T-bird with independent rear axles, do it yourself gearbox, and forced induction V6. The early 90's did it right with what they had to work with. That was actually a very fun car to drive.
