AHHH THE PLURAL IS PIEROGI *dies*

To be fair, the use of the phrase “big D” in an article about Anthony Weiner automatically causes one’s mind to go down a single track.

It took me way too long to figure out what D word you meant. “Democrat? ...Dick? ...Ooooooh divorce!”

It’s never happened to me, but out of curiosity — how would it work to complain? Like, unless the interview was recorded, isn’t it just hearsay?

I’m starting the fifth year of my PhD and it sucks. I’m sorry that the sucky feeling hit you so early — mine didn’t get me till year three/four, so it didn’t make sense for me to jump ship when I was so close to finishing. I’m bailing on academia after completing it, though. Everyone down thread has given sound advice

*just puts all her books on hold* xD Thank you!

Thank you!

Oooh that sounds fascinating! Thank you!!

I’ve never read her, although her name is familiar; where would I start?

The wise chartreuse sings:

I’m sorry that happened to you. :(

Seriously — I would have said no.

I was wondering the same thing. I’m 27 and I look at least a decade older than he does. :(

I really loved it in high school and I’m trying to decide if I was that stupid/obtuse or just had lower standards.

I re-read that statement three times and kept seeing “mildly *appealing* sexism” and was v. confused. “Mildly appalling” makes much more sense.

Leave my House out of this! *cry* We don’t want them!

“Think of the children! All the children that they won’t be having!!!11!!! :( :( :(”

They’re really excellent! All my friends are having kids and I keep waiting for the offspring to be old enough to read them :P

My parents are Poland. I actually grew up in Canada, not the US, but my childhood was definitely filled with Horrible Histories/Horrible Science (AMAZING books for kids, btw) rather than the typical ‘classics’ (although I did read Matilda!).
