Barris was the Edison & P.T. Barnum of the custom car world. He did pull off the deal of the century, by selling a COPY of the Batmobile as an original.. I know this to be true, not just by looking at stills from the show, but from working with him & seeing the “Original” crushed under a pile of stuff at his shop
