Sharper? Hmm…
Sharper? Hmm…
Yes, I agree it's addicting. Sorrentino's got such a unique and interesting voice and vision; I don't give a damn if the narrative is choppy or surreal at times - I'm happy the show is being made and I find it fascinating to watch.
You know this is comedy, right?
Sure - which are the same conditions many broadcast shows work under; especially expensive ones,
Certainly more plausible than Trump being elected president.
Her career wasn't sorted - unless you achieve massive success in the arts, one's career goes up and down throughout your life. She happens to be moving up at the moment - it can move back downward at any moment.
Not a miniseries: they've already started production on season 2.
I'm not here to pretend anything; I think it's a clever satire on me-culture and consumer mission-creep; that hits its stride by episode 4, and is a fine successor to Better Off Ted.
I think this show is much smarter than some critics are giving it credit for. Zombification leads to selfish and hollow affirmations (e.g. "be the best you you can be") and impulse control issues? To me, it's a caustic satire of the Century of the Self and consumerism - quite insidiously clever. Kudos to Victor Fresco…
I don't think you're asking to be spoiled, so let's just say the series deals with this in clever ways.
Did someone enact a moratorium on horror satire shows?
Sheesh… how many Trumps have to be elected before the culture stops being choked with nostalgia-based, escapist fare?
Yes, it did need some charm. Unfortunately, none showed up.
Ahh…ok! Your comment makes complete sense now - sorry for the confusion.
Yes, but but not having your title sequence until the third episode is not.
"Steven Knight says there will be a Taboo season two"
We'd already watched, discussed, and critiqued the show long before the inane memes started, so if by "nobody" you mean the twits over in the US, sure, I guess so.
One thing this episode was excellent at:
Increasing the number of times I could fast-forward, so that the usual Series 3+ ~75" viewing time decreased to something closer to ~60 minutes.
Did you watch the UK or US version (I saw the former)? The reason I ask is that I'm curious whether the crotch shot was cut in the US version (it wouldn't be the first time that's happened), since honestly, I would of have expected much more commentary about it here at the AV Club.
Thanks; my apologies too. I thought you were agreeing with the OP and suggesting that Law has simply aged badly since A.I. And point taken on the sentence construction.
