Totally agree. That's why I can discount his hatred of the ending. The character didn't make it and he was upset, but once we discussed why she did what she did, he understood, just still hated it.

Far From True by Linwood Barclay and The Inseparables by Stuart Nadler. Close to done with both, so next up is Grace Notes by Katey Segal and The Gift by Louise Jensen.

Gave my latest novel to my reader, who hated the ending. Fuck him, I loved it. I think he only hated it because he's had some much time invested in the character and things don't work out so well for her. He did give me some editing suggestions, so I'm working on those.

The first (and only) book I ever stole from school. While the rest of the class was moving thru the first read, I had already read it 3 times. It was that damn good. I still have the old battered paperback, held together by packing tape somewhere. I did buy my sons their own brand new copies and told them if they

I still get the chills thinking about him in that role.

I first remember him from the Jim Jones story. He was so damn good at it and so damn creepy. I loved him in every role I've ever seen him in, from Red Dawn to Southern Comfort to Sin City. But of course, Cy Tolliver. So much quiet menace in that role.

Nope, they were engaged.

The trauma of killing the guy would have been enough to make her leave Grey-Sloane. Why the hell does anyone work there, anyway?

A way better episode than I expected.

My condolences. Having had to do that myself not very long ago, I know how much it sucks.

Oh, I don't resent her illnesses at all. I resent the fact that she's too sick to come to work, but not too sick to go to said grandkid's soccer game and post pictures of it on Facebook.

Just finished one called The Marriage Pact that was OK and A Bridge of Years that was pretty good. Also Golden Prey by John Sandford was a good one. Currently reading Far From True by Linwood Barclay.

I have heard from people that it was the best ending he's ever written as well as that it sucked like an Electrolux. I'm in the "it sucked" camp myself. I think the last couple books were nowhere near as good as the first 4. Way too self-referential.

We just finished season 4 of The Americans. I have season 5 on the DVR, but we're also streaming Bosch and it's hockey season, so we haven't had much time to catch up to season 5.

Finished digging out my beds. Mr. Max bought a cubic yard of top soil yesterday and it doesn't look any better than most of the shit we dug out. So we're planning to use some of the stuff we dug out, plus get a few more cubic yards of "premium topsoil" from a local nursery. I'm hoping to have the beds ready this

I'm guessing it's the same here. Our rescue cat bit my son and we were reported to the County health board and had to quarantine the cat for 10 days. Didn't get any visits, tho.

My co-worker, who took 3 months off during our busiest time of year last year, has just announced she's retiring at the end of October. I truly don't know if it's a fuck this shit or hooray this shit. Fuck it because I'll be with a new employee during the busiest time of year while another member of our team is on

The Clarks - Penny on the Floor
Phil Collins - Long, Long Way to Go
