Stargate?

You know what NEEDS a good reboot - Dune.

Meh. I mean, I’ve got original copies of both Valkyrie Profile and Suikoden II and while the high price tag is interesting, it’s not much compared to, say, an old Magic collection. I’m not talking Alpha/Beta sets, either - I’ve got a pile from Tempest up that are probably nearly $5000 of value.

Meh... there is a huge difference between moderation of a forum and censorship [which is technically the wrong term, I admit]; when a developer is using moderation tools to stifle negative reviews that do not in any way violate Steam’s TOS it becomes an issue of ethical use of the ‘moderation’ tools. I personally have

Well, that was a far clearer and more concise explanation of the matter than the article and comments.

I’m actually kindof confused... what is the difference between cultural appropriation and assimilation? Perception? Is Taco Bell culturally insensitive? The countless Chinese restaurants that aren’t even SUPPOSED to be Chinese but for Pearl Harbor happening? How about Christmas? Christianity ‘appropriated’ so many of

Meh. I’ve actually argued the opposite of this logic; the bandwagon effect is a logical fallacy, and experience has taught me that large groups of people tend to be extremely blind when forming their opinions (love that echo chamber effect). An opinion being in the majority has nothing to do with it’s veracity.

Anyone else catch the “architects of change” line in the trailer?

It seems Sid Meiers is a follower of Tzeentch. Good.... good...

I take issue with them actually making a second; the first game’s story basically went unfinished and as you yourself noted, there are literally NO changes - only content additions. This shouldn’t be a standalone game, but at best an expansion - or the rest of the game that was Kickstarted and left unfinished.

Swinston does seem an odd choice for the Ancient One; feels a little like she’s reprising her role from Constantine. Perhaps that’s the tone they wanted?

Hrm... I’m not sure about Oded. I just don’t feel he’s that strong an actor; I can’t see his face without being reminded of his role in the original Mummy where he

Casting for Strange himself had to be difficult, though - aside from the race issue, I don’t really see anyone being a better choice than Cumberbatch. He’s literally the perfect choice for the role, and the fact that race is an issue seems odd to me; this isn’t Avatar-level white-washing.

I didn’t realize Narset was in the MCU, haha...

Really been looking forward to this one.

Civilization V and Suikoden II

Run me out some Google fiber and I’d consider it.

Have you seen the prices of their models? If they released even a $60 game that charged $10 for each race beyond the first 3 or so it would easily compete with their tabletop property enough to put it under.

Of course, their current model of ‘let’s just double the price of everything!’ is hardly stellar, either.

You may as well have just posted a string of Magic cards - the fair majority of these are from recent sets.

I have pirated almost every game I’ve purchased lately. It’s simply too easy to get swindled, and $40-60 is a huge investment these days to be disappointed by content or features.

And yet, the game STILL rests solely on the laurels of it’s combat system, which provides no depth for team play and essentially amounts to button mashing.

We’re getting a bit old for that twitch-based crap these days, you know?

In all honesty the best thing Japan could do is get over itself. Their xenophobia is so anachronistic that it’s tempting to send a second Matthew Perry there to forcibly open their culture to the West.

It’s almost like... they don’t realize they have a massive Western market they’ve completely ignored!
