I’m not sure it would have been a big deal during my childhood but I definitely wouldn’t want to be a teenager with social media. Pressure was high enough, I can’t imagine what it’s like for teens now.

I’m trans, so that’s a loaded question. Being a kid in the early 90s would be nice in a lot of ways, but I think I’d rather be a kid now and have the opportunity to transition at a much younger age, in a time where that’s a lot less likely to get me into trouble.

ALSO TGIF

Oh god the 90s no question. No (ubiquitous) helicopter parents, no social media, no cell (ubiquitous) cell phones, minimal standardized testing, Mr. Rogers, Bill Nye, seeing Jurassic Park for the first time...

I was a young child in the 80s and a teenager in the 90s.. so back then. Mostly because you could act a fool without it ending up on the internet.

Today. Because my era — the ‘70s/’80s — meant no internet, which means that if you were a smart girl who wanted to go to college but was stuck in a farming community, you would have pretty much zero friends. At least today, I would be able to find a message board to find likeminded people to talk to and not feel

The social media platform whereon I was an embarrassing tween, MySpace, has turned into a music thing now I guess? Are they even still doing that?

70s - 80s kid here, my own era, please. I got to see the 8 track turn into a cassette turn into a CD turn into MP3s. IT WAS SO AWESOME!!!

My own time. The 90s were pure gold. I will fight anyone over that.

As someone whos raise was approved today, I have to say y’all are crazy.

1970s all the way, man!

As if, it’s obviously the 80's that had the best childhoods. The seeds of video-gaming, the Stallone movies, shoulder pads, exploding flower hair-do’s, and no facebook or internet and kids actually left their houses on their own and did huck finn type fun stuff.

Yeah, but having money certainly makes it easier for you to control how you spend those minutes. You can cram a lot more life into those days and years if you’re not constantly living paycheck to paycheck.

My time, late 80s/90s for sure.

My era (70s!) for sure. I’m not a technophile, so if I were a kid now, I wouldn’t be able to find anyone to ride bikes or play kickball with because they’d all be on their tablets or whatever.

Back in the day (80s/90s). But it’s because many people remember the “old days” fondly and scoff at “kids these days and their rotary phones”

Heavy Breathing

You voted for Long Summer Vacations over Getting a Raise decisively, with 64 percent over 36 percent.

90s (my era), easily.

Wow I really had all my money on Everything is Free
