I assumed you had seen ASM 2, it is a plot "twist" from that movie. I agree it is stupid, it really takes away from Spider-man being just an average kid who was gifted with great power and responsibility.

I was talking about the movie version where Richard Parker locked the spider formula to his DNA so only his descendants could get the spider powers using it.

I didn't know about that. I can see them introducing the clone saga with a Spider-woman movie, since only parker's DNA works with the spider venom formula

I'm worried about a different female role in Ant-Man being cut. Cassie Lang... We don't know for sure but it seems like Scott Lang won't be a father in this version and that makes him a very different guy

Most people are expecting Avengers 3 to be May 2019, which would make Phase 3 a whopping 8 movies long! I am hoping that is the case since that would allow them to build up to Thanos even more with the GotG sequel and maybe another cosmic franchise like Captain Marvel. But maybe we are all just being too…
