I feel like the next "best bra" thing would be "Best Bra for Boulders" aka huge ones.

Swollen and Emotional describes so many Cleveland Browns fans.

Hi Hild and Delectably Chic — they definitely need to do more to recruit international students and it is my hope that they will. BTW, just today, the law firm hired by #savesweetbriar called upon the BOD and President to resign so that others committed to saving the school can go about doing so: https://savingswee

Have you seen the video some alums put together? Beautiful and sad.

Interesting that you feel comfortable agreeing with him without knowing more about the situation. No where in the article is it mentioned that the school has been without a Director of Admissions for quite some time. Not only was this position never filled by Jones or his predecessor, but a number of other positions

I gave a few to SavingSweetBriar.com because I felt like it was my duty as a Seven Sisters alumna. When it's inevitably unsuccessful, they're using the collected funds for scholarships to make sure SBC students can finish up somewhere, so it's no real loss.

"Irrationality"?

I am so incredibly sorry. I am a Smithie and know that that was the best choice I could have made. Home away from home doesn't describe how I still feel about my school. I am glad though that you have such fond memories and hope that you find ways to continue to embrace your time there.

My Masters in Teaching comes from Sweet Briar (yes, they did accept guys to their grad programs) and both of my parents were professors. This is a huge loss to my parents (and it is very difficult for an academic to find another job in their 60s) and this is a blow to me professionally. There was no warning. There was

THIS IS MY SCHOOL! I'm Class of 2000. We are devastated but are fighting tooth and claw to save our school.

Class of 2010 here. I went to two small, rural, liberal arts, residential, women's colleges and while I understand that that environment is not for everyone, I could not imagine my life without them. They make up so much of who I am today.

I didn't go to Sweet Briar, but I did go to an all-women's college and feel exactly about my school as you do yours. I can imagine what you are feeling right now - I'm so, so sorry. Women's colleges are still such an important, relevant part of our secondary education system.

...except the liberal arts are specialized. You still pick a major. We had plenty of people in the STEM fields at my college who went on to medical school or PhD degrees for research in Chemistry and the like. We also have people with MBAs, JDs, etc. This is purely anecdotal, but 100% of the folks from college I know

As an alum of another southern women's college this greatly saddens me. Women's colleges are going co-ed left and right and to see that Sweet Briar is shutting down sucks. I am proud of the fact that the Salem College President sent out an email to alums and board members last night saying that Salem is going to work

This is terrible! I went to Mary Baldwin College (another all-women's uni) and our fencing team (the fighting squirrels) used to rag on their team (the vixens) because they wore pink knee socks. But it's awful to see them close. My feminist awakening was the direct result of being in a safe learning environment where

Honest question: Pointless how? The small student-to-faculty ratio? The individualized attention? The depth and breadth of material? The hands-on learning allowed in smaller classrooms? The amazing financial aid packages?

I went to a small liberal arts college and performed leaps and bounds beyond my peers in graduate

Class of 2009 here. We are doing our utmost to make this headline untrue. The alumnae aren't giving up without a fight.
