With specific regard to the “asking for blankets,” I don’t think the issue the nurses had was with the asking, rather the fact that there’s a call button people are supposed to use, but which people are not using (opting instead to make continual trips to the nurse’s station.)

Is it possible he just loves his wife? I’m not saying he was right, but I am saying it’s possible that these actions did not come from a place of narcissism and thinking of her as weak or his property or that he needed to defend his own ego, but instead he genuinely loves her and won’t stand for ANYONE who upsets her.
