In Canada, the judicial system does not use the word ‘rape’ - it is called sexual assault. Which really is more precise. And there is also violent sexual assault, sexual assault with a weapon and so forth. Rape just really does not put the emphasis where it needs to be - assault.

As stated earlier, each case is different. There are a lot of factors that go into reporting or not reporting a case of sexual assault. Age of the victim. Age of the assailant. A person of color reporting to a police officer/detective who is white. Location and circumstances of assault - back alley vs ‘date’ rape.…

At this point its not about whether he’s going to court - its just about building up a complete picture so that everyone understands what he is about - sort of like our buddy Weinstein. He may never spend a day in jail but we see him clearly now for who he is because his victims were brave enough to speak... out loud.
