I have a few.

So let me get this straight: you passed over a significantly better condition vehicle for this one because it didn’t have character, then ended up popping a motor, which is going to cost you as much as the nicer Bug would have?

Didn’t you read the reliable part? Knocks the BMW out.

COTD Comrade.

I have two that come to mind.

At 175, that’s dangerously close to a 911 Turbo S (and right on a Turbo). I know where my money would go.

Chances are it wasn’t the tune. Those turbos have issues. Get an IS38 from an S3 or Golf R.

GM ignition switches- kills people, no jail time.

Mercedes diesel.

If that happened to me in my “nice” car and the owner of the Tesla didn’t say anything about it or would not acknowledge fault, I’d calmly get out my tire iron and return the favor. It’s just a ding, right? Things happen, it's how you handle it that's important.

Jeep Wrangler. Small and compact for NYC, dead reliable, and very difficult to get Stu K. A nice TJ will fit the budget.

Mazda 6 or Audi A4/A6 if he can live with leather. Either car will need remote start installed.

1. Chevy Vega

P.S.- My 89 YJ that my mom stole from me. I still get to drive it when I go up to their lake house though, so I can’t really be that mad. 64k original miles, 2.5, 5 speed. I bought it with the crappy pearl white paint job for 1700 and put another 1500 into it. Runs like a champ.

An Integra Type R for 4 grand. It ran but had a very shoddily done JDM front conversion and some mice had taken up residence, plus it started misfiring once warm, but it was all there (other than the front end and the rear strut bar brace). Guy wouldn’t budge off of 4. I haz a sad, especially since it seemed like he

You also would have saved money in the long run. Hippies don't maintain cars, man.

Just as a rough tally, if you had bought the “cherry” one you had looked at, you probably would have been okay. Just saying.

Wow. I know people in the Prestige organization, I can’t believe they’d employ someone that would say that to an individual.

He paid for his car, not for some stupid valet to drive his car around. It would piss me off to no end as well. The people who did it should be fired.
