Because women are traditionally supposed to be demure and not laugh out loud uproariously as that suggests aggressiveness.

Really? No sexism in this election? I’ve never known the cost of any male candidate’s suit, but I know Hillary wore a $12000 jacket.
Making fun of Hillary’s laugh is similar to criticizing women for upspeak, saying “like,” using vocal fry, etc. It’s the kind of criticism that’s never leveled at men, and it’s something that’s routinely leveled at women to keep them in check and prevent their voices (literal and figurative) from being taken…
Please thank this loyal citizen for planting the seed.
how exactly is making fun of someone’s laugh “sexist”?
I’ll agree that the exact problem is difficult to pin down, but it does feel sleezy to me.
Because a) it’s not something she can really control, b) is a backhanded way of commenting on how she’s not ladylike, and c) it doesn’t have shit to do with her ability to govern.
Well a common sexist stereotype of woman in power is that they’re shrill.
because they are insinuating that her laugh is too loud, too aggressive, too much and she should be relegated to tiny giggles behind her hand like a good, docile woman would. I mean, can you believe her audacity to actually laugh her real laugh??
Agreed. It’s also not white male bashing to call attention to the fact that society privileges the perspectives of white men, at the expense of everyone else.
The “You are special..” and child-centric raised kids are entering the real world.
When I was a kid, I was taught that when someone is speaking, you keep quiet and let them have their say. Where were some of these delegates I kept hearing yesterday raised?
As a Bernie Supporter, I watched them shout through the Elijah Cummings speech and was physically ill.
Bernie Sanders supporters are feeling highly emotional.
Meh. Are we supposed to celebrate a woman who has at her disposable the best professional skin care, makeup, haircare, fitness and nutrition experts, plastic surgeons, etc. for looking ‘good’? Nah.
Oh my god, she’s a politician!
I agree with your first point, but I also think that Bernie’s most hardcore supporters have actually lost sight of the rhetoric that originally drew them in. If they actually cared about college affordability, campaign financing, income inequality, etc., they would be addressing those issues in a productive way.
Jill stein is an anti-Vaxxer who takes money from snake oil salesmen who market magic water to desperate people.
yeah maybe my post was overly simplistic, because angry. they 100% liked his rhetoric, and it blinds them to anything that is different wording but same meaning.
If they were in it for the issues, they wouldn't be for Trump, or Pence, who will literally destroy the things they care about.
