I think a half way decent director could make a successful idea out of that. Take out the Jesus, and say we were a different bio weapon (I’ve heard environmentalists compare humans to a virus) created by a different sect of engineers.

Did you say that verbatim? No. But it is implied with the term “Military Industrial Complex.”
So not a straw argument if your position has a foundation based on this. Seriously, this whole conversation started with a knee jerk (not yours) statement about how irresponsible the American govt is because a tank that may be

Ya know after thinking about it for a minute, I realized that this point is moot. Congress appropriates funds, but the individual entities (Army, Navy etc) choose to buy or not to buy. But because I like the conversation...think about it. If a congress person voted to buy a foriegn made product for Americas

Russia invaded Ukraine and pulled out of NATO, and sent Blackjack bombers to South America for exercises, and has substancially increased their military funding lately...but the cold war is over? Oh forgot to mention ahve you read about China and their shenanigans in the Spratley Islands? You really think the Cold War

Totally agree with Buzz. It’s penny wise/pound foolish to close down a factory for a short period of time. The cost savings go out the door when you have to recruit and train new people. No seriously I’ve been a part of stuff like this. The company loses money, the government loses money, and we all lose time

It’s funny to me that there are a lot of people espousing how great their favorite tank is. No matter where it’s from. If you think that a congress critter that tries to vote to keep a program open in their district is a hypocrite then what is that congress critter if they vote to “buy” a tank from another country. I

Actually the US sold these to the Saudis. It was designed by Chrysler Defence and is now built/rebuilt by General Dynamics so your statement about being too cheap to diversify is not accurate. The only reason we’re still buying these things is complex but to simplify it for you, the M1A2S is pretty much one the better

Sorry Man. As an engineer working in the defense industry, dealing with the DOD purchasing system? That’s about it in a nutshell. The only they left out in their example was the truncated production timeline that the government tries to get the manufacturer to pay for too.
