Gus Fring may have been a Bond villain, but he was a supremely competent one. Everyone in the ABQ underworld would have been better off if he had stayed in charge, and I don't know if the show has ever really bothered to point that out.

Linda Lovelace's story is grim and sad and completely unsexy, so the marketing of the film jarred me. She was a pawn of pretty much everyone - the porn industry, the media, feminists, evangelists…then the poor woman died. How you can set that to upbeat music and try and turn it into some kind of girl power narrative

I had to binge watch this one for fear I would be too tempted to look up who the killer was. I get the sense it's not written in the way of an Inspector Morse mystery in that I don't think you are meant to figure out who did it from clues. The clues lead down several paths, only one leading to the killer, so basically

Later, watch for Elizabeth's perfectly manicured nails. They surely had manicures in the 15th Century, but they most certainly did not have pearlescent nail polish.

When Margaret of Anjou was onscreen, I couldn't help but wish the story had been from her point of view. As portrayed here, she's 1000x more interesting than Elizabeth. Or, it could have been from the point of view of the three York brothers, who actually had the power at the time and a fascinating relationship, but

I loved the Tudors, for all its over the top costumes and camp, and I wanted to like this one, especially since the events portrayed inspired a lot of Game of Thrones. But this one suffers from trying to make Elizabeth Woodville and King Edward the heroes when they aren't any more or less sympathetic than the people

Marie is so underrated, and she could have just turned out as a superfluous character in the hands of a lessor actor. But the show needs characters that are separate from Walt's double life, and I love that she's not saintly and normal but screwed up and normal. The show wouldn't be the same without her.

Speaking of Jessica Brown Findlay, a few of my friends have floated her as a potential Claire in Ron Moore's adaption of the girl power time time travel series Outlander.

I thought it improved in Season 2 as well. Lots of SciFi series take a season to find the right tone, and by the end of Season 2 I thought Torchwood had found its feet. I love Children of Earth. Miracle Day is a different animal all together and wasn't quite my thing, but it's interesting and worth watching. My best

I love that Frakes was heavily involved in the whole Alien Autopsy prank/fraud/early-reality-television wink. And I hear he made huge money off it.

I wouldn't mind if the next Star Trek series was animated. They would have to spend some money on writers, though.

The moment in Game of Thrones that had the most impact for me was when Yara Greyjoy declared she was going to rescue her no-good brother. The Red Wedding was such a moment of despair, so it was very effective to have that moment of grim but positive determination.

The only thing I got out this article was an impulse to watch the excellent Sherman brothers documentary.

Really. Monsieur Roland even brought me some Angry Birds candy, the whole cultural affinity had become such an amusement for us. And this was before I'd seen a single episode of Veep.

I love that the writers of Veep somehow keyed into the Finnish zeitgeist. I visited there not long ago, and Angry Birds paraphernalia is everywhere. Kids carry stuffed Angry Birds, adults wear t-shirts emblazoned with Angry Birds and ads for the Angry Birds Store appear on ubiquitous bus station ads. The Finns LOVE

Even though Finn wasn't the star, he, Rachel and Kurt were central to the show's success, and it's a show where viewers can reasonably expect happy endings. It's going to be jarring when they have to kill off Finn, which I'm sure they will do. I'm also sure the whole cast and crew are grieving right now and not really

I'm glad they are disavowing the guy's beliefs and making an effort, and I sympathize with the need to protect their investment. I have never read this book, and I don't know what the plot is or how long the proect was in development. However, the author was not shy about his vehement anti-gay beliefs that went far,

Kings was a really good show, which I sadly didn't watch until it was canceled and Netflix. I think had it been on a cable network, it would have survived.

The only thing I remember is that they were so sure they were being canceled that they actually had LA destroyed by a nuke in one episode.

Beyond chiming in to agree that I think Oliver is doing the best possible job under the circumstances and I've enjoyed his performance, I am reminded that it must be exceptionally difficult to be a talk show host. Part of the job is making it look easy and relaxed, so dozens upon dozens of celebs have thought "hey, I
