Exactly, I’m surprised this isn’t the only takeaway from this anecdote: Dinner on Valentine’s day. Surprised Salty didn’t mention it.

Same here, the doctors I’ve been dealing with are women and the dismissive attitude is horrid. All the physical symptoms I described to the woman doctor after the birth of my son 9 yrs ago were met with a “a-huh…”. This went on for almost 3 yrs. Then when most of them were gone or better, she diagnosed me with…
I’m more than happy to hear that my view is narrow! If you live there/know the culture, and man is not king, and adultery not a norm (well, no more than in Canada, where I live), then I’m quite relieved, I assure you.
OMG, Jupiter was completely unwatchable.
Of course it did. I met a lot of people from France (because reasons) and let me tell you, man is king, and a woman’s greatest sin is having extra pounds or showing emotions. Oh, and adultery is normal and mature (when the guy does it). I wanted so badly to ask these women how STDs factor in their “progressive views”.
This! Thanks you, USEFUL people. My 8-yr old was diagnosed ADD at 6. He’s resourceful, curious, respectful, and he’s very socially skilled (it’s the main comment I get from other people).
If he loves what he’s doing, and has a good support system, he’ll fare better... Jared Leto is a cautionary tale...
Young Sheldon is a very-well cast show, all around. It’s worth checking out on that basis alone. I’m just worried that the talented young actor playing Sheldon will end up growing up weird as a result of spending too much emulating that Parsons guy from BBT. I hope he’s well taken care of. Say what you will about…
I’m quoting the numbers stated in the article, it’s not a theory. Glad the drugs are working for you, but in sports, it’s considered cheating.
Wow… just wow... this is amazing... I’ve listened to it 6 times in a row, and it’s far from the last time. Thank you, many thanks, for sharing this… Sinead’s talent should have been more deeply nurtured, such voice and depth of feeling, soooo lovely! I have to check out Two Rooms stat :-)
This! Kate Bush puts it all out there freely, she’s an inspiration and shines so generously. I became a mom 9 yrs. ago, and it’s been about that amount of time since I enjoyed her lovely, out-of-this world creations… and some undiscovered ones, it seems!
Love this cover, never saw or heard of it before! Mr. Colburn, thanks for sharing, you made my day. Kate Bush is transcendent!
I’m all about men (well, anyone really) being awesome and sharing opportunities, which is the situation here. We come from a time in history when The Man was in charge of everything, so it stands to reason that to effect change, men such as Seth do whatever they can to help out, and he does so with gratitude.
Another way to read this: the current educational system works for 89% of children. The other 11% need to be drugged to conform.
Yea… I just used to call them baby as well. Terms of endearment and compliments are misplaced, but are they insults? I used to shoot the same thing right back: Hey gorgeous /... and I love your smile too /...your face is brightening my day as well... People want to be liked.
Did we watch the same thing? Amber was perfection of course, but I thought Seth was spot-on with his humble-eloquent white savior timing.
Agree, not sure it’s a good idea to add an extra 30 mins to any Late Show. How about creating: The Amber & Jenny and Sometimes Seth and/or Various Guests and Colleagues Half-Hour Show :-)
Yes! Amber is a standout for me but they’re definitely a team of great writers/performers, wholeheartedly agree! Would love 90 mins with more skits, anything really.
I watch Seth most nights. Seems to me he’s visibly and verbally grateful for great writers on his team like Amber. She’s consistently awesome and he appears to love giving her a platform to express her astute and funny commentaries. He’s also a very good writer himself imo, white dude notwithstanding.
I’ve been looking forward to WWC and I’m stoked that DN chose this subject for their 3rd season opener.
