Hmmm, i think the big mansion-like houses are plausible, given Pasadina and the era:

Thanks for the list! She was great in Emma, and QG. She really commands attention, and she's talented to boot.

OMG I totally lost it with that “who could forget that woman" part, great sketch!

I had the feeling that the entire show is done... it wouldn’t surprise me if it didn’t return next season.

Steven Universe is a jewel of a show, so much talent behind it.

Arrgh, why did you have to remind me about Pushing Daisies. That was during a 5-year period with a bunch of supernatural kindness shows that got axed way too prematurely, like Wonderfalls, Dead Like Me, etc.

I’d watch that. Last year’s Palm Springs skews in that direction, fantastic movie, if you haven’t seen it.

Excellent points, especially re: Jerry. What redeems the P&R kindness optic, is how much the characters care about each other (at least superficially, lol).

All Rise was promising, but they lost me when it became the All About the Masks Show.

Amy Adams was in HER?

You had me with Melanie L. ...and that title cinched it.

Seems to me LW2 is pursuing sex but his “heart” isn’t in it.

They should have written the mother into most of season 8 for sure!!

I thought of that as well! On the one hand, superb casting for the Mother, just perfect, and in the other hand... totally blew their entire initial vision to smithereens.

Cristin Millioti is so terrific and loveable that she destroyed How I Met Your Mother - she was so perfect as the titular Mother and now.... reruns just bring back the outrage, lol.

The best film of 2020 is Eurovision, the Fire Saga story (I know it’s not typical oscar fodder but 2020 needed more such films), but Palm Springs is my close second.

Yep, it’s that nuance between bravado and confidence. I do have a lot of respect for bravado, it’s putting your best foot forward - not the same thing as arrogance.

Randy wasn’t there until the very end! That’s what was missing....

Every year there seems to be a project in the works for an adaptation of one of Ms. Butler’s novels, but they don’t materialize.
