Having a busy schedule I get but wasn’t it Cavill, himself who actively campaigned for the role, being a huge fan of the series?

I’m going to argue against the role not requiring a lot of complex emoting as I do genuinely think that Cavill did a ton in that role. The whole point of his take on Geralt was to constantly convey that as much as Geralt spoke about not caring about things, he truly did. In addition, there was that struggle on how to…
Being the geek that I am, I am very versed in the lore of BOTH HotD and LotR. On one side I own and have read the HoME series and Silmarillion, and other side I have read essentially all of the Martin SoIaF related material and side stories/histories. This can apparently be both a plus AND a big minus.
I preferred HOTD, or at least looked forward to its episodes more. Good acting, loved the visuals, and it’s basically a costume soap opera with dragons that occasionally veers into tragedy (with the “tragedy” aspect of it coming in hard at the end).
“House Of The Dragon seems to have wildly varying ideas of what a 14-year-old looks like.”
The episode ends with Rhaenys killing dozens of innocent people
We needed a few more shots of his club foot to really understand it, so I’m still confused.
This was a really tense episode, but I had two huge issues with it. First, the this show seems determined to make Alicent sympathetic ... which makes her come off as come off as wishy-washy and dumb. Watching her flip-flop from taking the hardest lines possible against Rhaenrya to all of a sudden, wanting to usurp the…
Larys being a foot fetishist is a little too on the nose, isn’t it? You don’t need to be Freud to figure that one out.
First of all, I believe everyone who has a story to tell. These stories have been circulating for years.
Them subverting expectations with Laenor definitely was a nice change.
Am I the only one who thinks the casting for Aemond was really off? It looks like he’s in his mid-30s while everyone else has aged appropriately. Kind of reminds me of SNL sketches where they use whoever is around to fill in roles resulting in some characters looking wildly older than others for humorous effect.
Last week’s episode is still better, but this one was solid. Yet another time jump meant yet another disorienting first Act, as I reacclimate myself with who’s who of the new cast (while continuing to be amused at how age works on this show... Suddenly Aemond looks older than Aegon, and Criston Cole has got to be from…
It’s made even more tragic by how we know the “Prince Who Was Promised” is total bullshit anyway, and it’ll be the last Targaryen heir’s little cousin, with none of the family blood herself, who takes care of everything.
So did they not invent wheelchairs until Bran’s time or what? Poor Viserys.
The best moment of the episode was definitely the “Strong boys” comment by Aemond.
It’s not pedantic, and not one needs to sit down. She’s just pointing out the consistent, obvious mistakes by this reviewer. It wouldn’t be a big deal if this were the first review of this quality, but it’s the norm.
Aemond is not Viserys’ grandson, he’s his son. Again, a small mistake, but they start to add up.
Lazy/sloppy content doesn’t need defending, and 1 and 4 aren’t ambiguous. Have a seat yourself.
This writer is TERRRRRIBLE at the “attention-paying” aspects of her job.
