It seems to me that Rhaenyra is learning new and exciting (terrifying) things about power, and what it really is. She’s a quick learner and a quick thinker.

The White Worm refers to Mysaria. Just like the masters after her, she has agents of “little bird” children in King’s Landing, but the title is more confusing here because in the book, she is so deathly pale that not even blood of Valyria would compare.
It’s not a legal restriction. It’s more like, “My lawyers told me about 700 times that I shouldn’t talk about this in public.” They want to be able to control as much information related to the case as possible and having your client talking about it freely in a public forum hugely diminishes that control.
Thanks for reading!
This episode opens with a guy gleefully cheering for Daemon to rescue him before getting crushed by Daemon’s dragon, and later Rhaenyra forces a poor singer to play the same song over and over like an emo teen with their Spotify list. Anyone still complaining there’s absolutely no humor in this show?
I actually quite enjoyed this episode, a lot more than episode one. aside from the stand off I thought it was a good episode establishing the strengths and shortcomings of our leading lady. I also think it’s been apt in showing how the patriarchy pits the women against each other for what little power is available to…
can we do it again, but nicer
Manuel it’s very interesting reading your reviews because it’s so difficult for me to get into the headspace of someone who is actually horrified by this episode and doesn’t think it’s absolutely brilliant. To give this episode a B, to have essentially given the series to date a B, just means that no matter how much I…
I’m an animator and watch way too many cartoons, so HBO Max’s CN and DC hubs are my jam. I’m not ready to throw flowers on the network just yet, but I am glad season 2 of Primal is done and ready to air before Zaslav can touch it.
Man, the 2010's were arguably the best decade in history for TV animation, and apparently we’re going to be following it up with a massive contraction of the industry. First Netflix cancels virtually every cartoon it had in the pipeline for the crime of not being Boss Baby, and now WB, which has been one of the…
I love how Laszlo and Nandor are legitimately both bisexual and already very openly into men, and yet are terrible at “acting gay”.
Trust me. Gay is in. Gay is hot. I want some gay. Gay its gonna be
there are black gods in Hades bc there were black ppl in Ancient Greece. hope this helps
There’s white people in Wakanda all the time. Bucky, Natasha, Steve, Bruce, Tony, Thor. You see Everett Ross himself in the trailer. Good god, open your eyes.
“Doing the big, flashy, franchise thing may not be the best choice” seems an odd sentiment coming from someone who starred in three Star Wars movies.
Tired: turning beloved works of anime into inevitably inferior live action products.
neoliberal sellout chasing clout with socialism-lite talking points
It suddenly occurs to me that Paul F Tompkins should’ve gotten a guest host shot at it. He’s even got the mustache!
I remember being an 8 year old little gay boy and having so much anger because I knew I was different, then I met Sailor Mars in one of the early episodes who also was filled with so much rage and I remember feeling very seen and heard, and watched her overcome that anger with friends. It’s strange that recognition…
