he probably didn’t turn the bottles. wine can be stored indefinitely, but it has to be stored on it’s side and you have to rotate the bottle every 6 months or so. if you don’t rotate the bottle the cork dries out and becomes slightly smaller, allowing air into the bottle which causes the wine to spoil. just a pro tip…
