I actually had a group battle happen to me randomly when attacking a gym, the other trainer’s pokemon appeared right next to mine and we attacked the single pokemon together. it was pretty great...and it never happened again.

I was watching the gamespot aftershow, and the 2 guys who were under embargo because they’ve been playing it made it pretty clear none of that was gameplay. “whatever game that is, I’m excited about,” is what one of them said. just take with a grain of salt.
