For reading pdfs that were made from files made to be printed out on 8.5 x 11 it is hard to beat, especially if you are not near a charger every 9 hours of use. My kindle goes for about a month with about an hour of use every day without needing a charge.

Judging by the photos the length of the card holder is less than 8% smaller and the width is less than 18% smaller, on a component that is already small.
