@elizawhat: It worked with my seagate freeagent external drive.

I did this with my seagate 1.5tb drive when it would not start up. It worked great, and by putting the drive between two icepacks (and changing them for new icepacks every couple of hours) I managed to clone the whole drive contents (1.3tb) onto another drive in about 15 hours.

VLC 1.0.5 on my iMac 2ghz core 2 duo handles 720p just fine.

@saif32: There is a Toshiba laptop that does that, but it uses a box that you need to connect to your TV:

Sadly it does not do .wma or .wmv files.

Couldn't you use Google Docs for a file sharing service by making the permissions for the uploaded file include the recipient. At $50 for 200GB it is pretty cheap, and you get 1GB for free.

From what I have heard, a few squirts with a CO2 fire extinguisher is the ultimate fast cooling trick.

I have often wondered why bikes are not factory coated with reflective coatings as standard. It would seem to be a great safety feature.
