I read Forever War and OMG was that a brutal, depressing, slog. And that ending…yeesh.
I read the first chapter of the non-Adams book and it was dreadful. Skimmed through some of the middle section to see if it would get better but it clearly did not, so I dropped it.
Yeah, the first two books were my favorite, and the third was tolerable. But I think after that Adams was just doing it for money. Too bad the Dirk Gently series didn't take off more than it did, I would have rather read a bit more of that.
Me too. I buy nearly all my books at library book sales years or decades after they were published.
