Seconding Journey.
Seconding Journey.
Other great snow levels:
I haven’t played some of the newer games on this list, but the Frozen Wilds DLC from Horizon Zero Dawn has what I feel like is some of the best snow in a video game. By extension, I guess the snow in Death Stranding is also very good? Same engine after all.
You forgot one.
Yes, romance! Like this scene with the heroic farm boy and the space princess smooching!
Doctor Aphra
Journey. Journey. Journey. 2 hours, life changing.
Outer Wild is fantastic but many people, experienced gamers included, have struggled with the spaceship control so that might be a challenge for first time gamers.
Thats sounds like a perfect fit for you. I don’t know if there is a better journalist in video games media right now when it comes to developing sources in, and reporting on, the industry side of things.
I look forward to seeing your future work!
Thanks for all of it, Jason. The work you do is so important, and I look forward to it continuing at a company that is hopefully less seasoned by herbs.
I feel much the same way. I’m sure a lot of it has to do with the brutal nature of dice rolls in these games. I played Kotor a lot as a kid and returning to it as an adult you realize like half your attacks are actually missing or being deflected.
In 2001 I was 11 years old. And all I wanted was a Gamecube.
Superman 64. Christmas of 1999 I think.
It singlehandedly turned me away from being a Superman fan.
Last week, I guested on the popular Earwolf series How Did This Get Played, a weekly comedy podcast dedicated to…
It’s one of those games I keep thinking about even years later. Slowly uncovering that game world was done so well and hunting giant robots was extremely satisfying
It’s a victim of coming out in the same year as Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey and Nier.
Horizon: Zero Dawn came out in 2017 and I think it deserves more credit than it gets. It basically perfected the Ubisoft formula of big open map you're forced to explore and open. The story also got increasingly more interesting as it goes and it uses a lot of the same "light RPG" mechanics that other open world games…
This is one of the best things about the Moon weapons. The ones that require activities completed and kills on the moon - Auto Rifle, MG, Hand Cannon - can all be done in the Vex Offensive as well. So you can grab Moon weapon quests, then grab Vex Offensive weapon quests, then grab Gunsmith Bounties and Ikora…
Please.
7/10 is first? On what planet? Obviously you guys got paid off by them.
